@RunningSnakes: Thank you very much to you and the other members, it motivates me and it improves over the updates :)

@MeXen: Make a request to FCEUX or FCEUmm. If they do it will be in FCEUX TX

Small update: version 1.1.6, with the possibility of adjusting all the sound volumes.

TX emulators are just getting better and better nowadays, they're my favorite emus for NES and SNES.

But...
Any plans for a VBA TX? With latest changes from VBA-M?

Update! For the de-emphasis bit color swap, here is an example with a PAL game that supports it:

@Tanooki16

Thanks for updating FCEUX TX, it's my favorite NES emulator for Wii, along with the Libretro port of Nestopia for Wii.

Also i'm glad that the Wii even with low-powered hardware can run the latest improvements made to the upstream emulator (FCEUX).
(Impressed that Snes9x TX also has changes from latest updates from upstream Snes9x, pretty awesome).

As i've mentioned on Snes9x TX thread, all updates for this new version were decent except of the removal of Catalan language... (Why remove Catalan? :/ )

Anyways, good job, Tanooki.

Hello,

This emulator is really great.

Just want to report that on last verison, the (L+R+Start) exit to menu combo is not working anymore.

Thanks.

does this support the NES classic controller that connects to the Wii remote? Also, how does this differ from SNES9x RX?

Hey @Tanooki16
A small bug report related to emulation reported by BlackPaladin2022:

(taken from my GitHub mirror)

SD Gundam Gaiden - Knight Gundam Monogatari 2 Does not load

This is a Mapper 16 ROM. While the emulator can run some, this one does not run on FCEUX TX. Loading the game will result in a grey screen displayed, nothing else.

I've tested it on my Nintendo Wii, which has 4.3U firmware and is jailbroken with letterbomb.
  1. Load FCEUX TX
  2. Select ROM to load on FCEUX TX
  3. optional Reset game, but the result is the same
I've included the hashes for the game in case it's needed.

Database match: SD Gundam Gaiden - Knight Gundam Monogatari 2 - Hikari no Knight (Japan)
Database: No-Intro: Nintendo Entertainment System (v. 20210216-231042)

Hi Saul, it's a rom problem.

The proof in pictures:
zbpY7cJ.png

That said, you did well, because it allowed me to see that the long game names exceeded the close button ^^
so I added a text scroll:

Update tomorrow if all goes well ;)
I will tell the person who opened that issue on GitHub.

Also, i've saw my GitHub mirror of your project and there's one issue remaining and a suggestion:

Issue: L+R+START does not work (last worked 1.1.6)
Suggestion: add TV Scanlines to FCEUX TX like Snes9xTX has

For the key combinations for the menu, I made an option to choose between L+R+START and A+B+START in the new version.

For the filters it's more complicated than expected, I would need time ^^

Great :3

About trying to implement TV scanlines filter to FCEUX TX, take your time for this, no rush.

Oh, i forgot to ask, why did you remove Catalan language on current FCEUXTX/Snes9xTX?
I ask it because there's still some people that speak Catalan, and it is nice to have their software in their language.

It's especially that with my work and my wife I miss the time.

But even if I promised my wife to spend less time on my PC, like most men I'm a liar :P

This summer I plan to slow down, so it will be the right time I think.

i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling

even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling

@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways

@Psionic Roshambo AI assisted game creation is kinda already here, there was recently that AI that can turn any 2D image into a fully modeled 3D object, it's not perfect, but it's a starting point, beats starting from zero
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
before that there was one to generate a fully modeled scene from a 2D image
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but most recently, there was one that actually generates a working unity scene with terrain and textures already set up that you can import right into unity, that's a huge time saver right there

and using LLMs to generate NPC dialogue and even dynamically generated quests is something i'm sure is already happening
