Sir I'm going to have my hwfly modchipped oled replaced by picofly. will I have to worry.. is there anything I need to tell the technician?

That they will need to add 47 ohm 0805 smd resistors, remove the usb, 3.3v regulator and buttons after programming the chip.

Honestly I'd just keep the hwfly

I’m specifically looking to avoid the hassle of having to “readjust” the dat0 adapter for the Hwfly every now and then just so my OLED boots up to LED colour green vs ( orange/yellow or red colour…sometimes and not booting to Hekate….can u please point me to a link or keywords to search that in the topic here in gbatemp…please anyone?

If there are no issues with the current install, why would you replace it?

Ok, just seen this, I would say this is probably more of an issue with the install than the chip, I’d get a different tech to take a look over it

But the picofly also needs the dat0 adaptor on oled.

You would literally have thw same issue of needing to readjust it, if you currently have to readjust it

The image section is a bit confusing without context, especially the mosfet part. I would suggest splitting it into a section about the rp2040 pinout, one about the connection points per console and one about the mosfet. Making clear that you can either use the CPU flex cable or manually attach a mosfet (with configurations for mariko and erista). The requirements also mention you can use a mosfet and/or the CPU flex but using both is not possible, and for the OLED you need the dat0 adapter, that could be mentioned in the requirements. Otherwise great start.

I would also put flynnsmt4 second in the credits, he put in a crazy amount of effort and knowledge to decrypt the firmware. We wouldn't have it without him.

Here if you guys want the current recommend mosfet and resistors. Its basically the info that @Adran_Marit try to collect and make easier to find said info in one collection
just its not very clear :P
  • 47-50 ohm resistors - SMD 08085 or smaller isnt it easier to write it as a SMD 0805 47R Resistor
  • Mosfet (IRFSH8342 MOSFET) Is actually IRFHS8342
  • And which hwfly cpu flex cable? and how is it actually installed with the flex cable and not the mosfet?
  • soz just trying to build myself a list of stuffs to possibly have a play

Because it is 10usd cheaper here and I’m relying on picofly being more stable than HWFLY…pls help
You're missing the point, replacing HWFLY with picofly uses IDENTICAL points on the Switch. If you have a DAT0 problem with HWFLY, you'll have a DAT0 problem with picofly. You need to fix the problem (DAT0) not replace the modchip.

mariko v2

I tried to solder to the RST point of the eMMC, but it was too small and in the process, the land was removed. How can I connect to the RST now? Should I jumper to the left connector?

I think maybe I should modify Sx cable to fit this project, so that we could stay away completely with hwfly. The motivation behind this is I would like to prevent people from damage their APU with Mosfet and in the future, people don't have to buy spare part from hwfly.

WIP: Grab leaked sx cable design, transfer to Kicad and robust a little bit to suit with Pikofly project.

With oshpark, price is around 12$ for 3 flex cables, quite affordable right?

Where did you get the sx cable design from?

Quick question...so there's two files (fw_2.5_nw.uf2 and unlock.uf2) that need to be used. How do you use each one? Thanks!
I used the 2 file version on a v1 patched and all good - There is a combined one as well I havent tested.

All uf2s are same install - Plug zero in copy 2.5fw then repeat for unlock uf2. Just like trinket/gemma/etc
