Hey there! I've tried to search for this already, but as it's a pretty basic question, but I haven't really found any answer. I've seen there are updates and DLCs as well. If I want to get all the updates and DLCs for a game when I get it - will NUSspli prompt and ask for these? Is it safe to take all of them and will I end up with the most complete working version of the game? Or is it safer to get the game only - and in a second round get the update, and in the third dlc?

Iirc when you select a game that has an update / DLC available, it'll ask if you want to add those to the queue, so yes it'll do it automatically.

Doing them separate wouldn't matter since it downloads and installs the game first, then update, then DLC. So it's the same process either way, just done consecutively. It's completely safe and the game will work.

@gYonder I would have to check the sources but IIRC it asks you to install the game, too, when you try to install DLC and it asks you to install the update, too, when you try to install a game.
So try to select the DLC and see how it works out. ;)

//EDIT: Or what @Korozin said. I'm really unsure right now but just try and see.

How do I delete the files I no longer want to resume downloading? Cause those files are still in my HDD.

If the process was interrupted and the files are still there, then the easiest way to delete them would be FTPiiU / WiiUFTPServer. Since you said the files are in your HDD, go to /storage_usb/install and delete the contents of the folder.

If it cut out during the installation process and not the download then iirc that's the import folder. I forgot the exact filepath, but I'm sure you could find it.

it's install? I thought the normal one was "import." maybe I'm wrong. I don't know if nusspli uses the same.

iirc it downloads the files to storage_mlc/install and storage_usb/install depending on where the user chose to download the files. Then when it goes to install the files it'll go ahead to the import folder.

So download and install locations are different. Ofc that's only if I remembered correctly, as I could be wrong lmao.

yeah, import is the normal folder that the wiiu uses officially. you're probably right about that.

No bans have been attributed to it, right? And will it stop working after the eShop closes down?

No, no one will get banned for using it. Nor will cheating online, etc get you banned. Nintendo does not monitor Wii U activities in any capacity.

The eShop servers will actually still be online even after its closure to allow users to download content they've previously purchased. This basically gives NUS tools a backdoor into the eShop servers to download NUS content. So yes, it will still work.

Hi. I'm coming here from the Switch after having just acquired a Wii U second-hand yesterday. I've already purchased a microSD with USB adapter and am preparing to follow the Wii U Hacks Guide to the letter.

I stumbled upon this after doing some research, but don't have a 100% clear grasp on what exactly it is. With the Switch, you have to dump your own backups or manually download NSP/XCI files from various sources, but for the Wii U, instead of random dodgy websites, you can use this NUSspli app homebrew installed on the Wii U to directly download and install games from Nintendo?

Is there any catch to it? Can Nintendo potentially blacklist your IP from using something like this? (I.E. Could they ban your IP as a whole, which would affect Switch online connectivity as well?)

Also, how does this app handle updates/DLCs for a particular game?

Exactly.

In theroy they could ofc do this but in practice they never did and switching IP is simple.

This question will probably answer itself when you just try it. ;)

Nope, no catch at all. You can actually download the files for games directly from your webbrowser, lmao. Tools like this just automate the download / install process and generate tickets for the games so the CFW can sign the software. It's basically just the eShop, so there's no need to worry about that. (They could restrict you, but seeing as this practice has been used for years? I doubt they will.)

When it comes to the Wii U Updates / DLC all take different file paths. So when you select a game, and there's an Update / DLC available it'll ask you if you'd like to download that as well as the title you selected. Then it'll install the game first (00050000 directory), then Update (0005000e directory), then the DLC (0005000c directory). (Only if I remembered correctly. Best thing to do is just try for yourself)

I've already purchased a microSD with USB adapter and am preparing to follow the Wii U Hacks Guide to the letter.

Can you explain more about what you plan to do? Because using micoSD to USB on the Wii U will NOT work. I also don't recommend using microSD to SD on your Wii U as it has its fair share of problems. Best bet is just using a regular SD.

Thanks. Sadly, my ISP provides a static IP, so I'd be forced to use a VPN instead. Which I don't believe both the Wii U and Switch support. But I'll take my chances anyway.

I did a lot of research, and it seems that as long as you format the microSD as FAT32 with 32K blocks, it should work just fine. The microSD to USB adapter is mostly for convenience, and to avoid the slow read speeds of the Wii U's SD card reader port.
