I have a Switch OLED with hwfly chip installed.

Updated OS with latest atmosphere and FW and everything looks to be working for a week.

Then this morning I took out the SD to backup my game saves. Also removed duplicate NRO app files from the switch folder. When I inserted the Samsung Evo card back. Attempted to boot, see the chip glows blue light then green but shows a black screen and nothing else and doesn't boot into atmosphere.

I even restored the files on the microSD card to its original state from a backup that I made a few days ago and still not booting anything. Don’t know what happened.

Btw I did try to test if it boots into OFW by pressing volume up + down but shows blue screen.

I did attempt to boot without an SD card and you get the Hekate fail to mount SD to try different testing methods. I even formatted a brand new card and just drag and drop the latest hats back and still black screen.

Also I can't get into the Hekate menu holding the R and Minus button and not working or showing the hekate menu

Do I have to inject a payload (hwfly chip)? Or patches? Or any suggestions?

I'm having a similar issue. Everything that you're describing is happening to me as well except of some differences: I lost my sd card so i had to buy a new one, i did all the process which was putting hekate and atmosphere into said sd card and then the exact issue that you're having is happening to me now. When i boot up the switch without the sd card, the no sd screen shows up though.

Flashing the hwfly firmware didn't work nor flashing the sd card with other packs inside.

Did you find a solution yet? I'm very desperate about this topic since there's no technician on my country which could help me about this, and i've spent a lot of money on patching this console, almost as the cost of a new brand switch.

Hope anyone helps.

this is going to sound crazy guys.... like really crazy, same thing here and i'm an installer of them....take the back off your switch, take the metal guard off and the sd card/game card reader off and loosen the screws around your heat sink. I can not figure out for the life of me why the hell it is happening but ive had the same issue, BUT only with ONE particular chip so far... its had so many problem i have kept it as my personal console and i have redone the install probably 18 times only to find out if i dont hulk down my heat sink everything works  hope it brings someone else switch back too cuz my goodness was i about to pull my hair out hahaha

Obviously good idea to put some kapton tape to cover the chip to prevent the chip from touching the heatsink would help.

Are you using kapton tape on the SP1 and SP2 points? I found that NOT having them taped can cause them to short via the heat shield. I've been using tape since my 2nd install (added to my 1st afterwards), and have done 4 more since with 0 issues.

I did for sure.

i almost think my thermal paste was dry(i didnt replace it cuz the console was brand new) and the screws were shorting out through the board. I would turn on the switch after every single new piece was installed and it would work/show the no sd card screen, but when i got the metal plate on and then the back go to turn it on and i could hear it clicking in menus but the screen showed no display.

was a brain buster and the most frustrating experience only to loosen the three little screws a 1/4 turn and havent had a single problem with it for over 2-3 months now.

yes and one good sized piece over the chip under the big metal guard as well. havent had any issues since but was sooooo frustrating getting that green light then nothing on the screen lol hope we can get their switches back up too.

Hate thinking a few tight screws and a 3mm piece of tape could be the fix if they knew where to put it

with the "1/4 turn" you mention to ease the tension, it's possible that the accidental ground or short will return. Is it possible your D/CLK point is being grounded by the shield? I've forgotten to bend the shielding back before and had to return because it was making the ever so slightest contact when fully assembled.

BUT, don't fix what ain't broken either. But just keep it in mind!
