Thank you to all the people involved for the work put into this!

I just wanted to say that I tried a couple more games and I my jaw hit the floor when i saw that Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee is seemingly working correctly. On other versions with dynarec there were many, many glitches of many different types on menus, videos, actual gameplay etc, but on this new one everything seemed to work as intended.

...Lightrec is quite the beast, holy smokes.

Both Oddworld games were already working in WiiSXRX 3.3. Same as Area 51 and Tony Hawk games, for example.

Actual new things are: Tekken 2 doesn't need Core Interpreter exclusively now to run without 3D exploding vertices, and Vib-Ribbon doesn't have scratchy music during gameplay. Rise 2 is still a big no, for now.

Sad of Rise 2, but i'm happy that Tekken 2 can be run with the Lightrec implementation on WiiSX and the game Vib-Ribbon can be played with its music instead of the earraping sound also on Lightrec on WiiSX.
Gonna try these games in a few hours.

Neh, you're not missing anything with the mediocre fighter Rise 2, it's just a particular game to see it working, since you can't play it in any other shape or form on the Wii, and the PC/Saturn ports can't be emulated. LOL on the ear-raping Vib-Ribbon. What I didn't test was the alternate music function by changing disk and using an Audio CD.

Speed is still the strong point and I am excited to think that we may eventually see Ghost in the Shell finally running on the Wii, maybe even with the best speed.

A mini update to this. I've just built the 3D accelerated build of WiiSX, ran Tekken 2, and besides looking slick like early ePSXe times with OpenGL, holy foking smokes. Full speed is there already, on the humble Wii.

Latest builds of WiiSX and CubeSX with Lightrec until git 88c4464
https://github.com/emukidid/pcsxgc/commit/88c4464af949e669a12706220c7ae9782f9abb8f

Latest change is optimizing the pixel blit for RGB555 mode (at RGB5A3), also adding -fipa-pta on compiling.
(pinging once again to @GustavoReis)

Please test these builds, thanks :)

@niuus
I have compiled the GX build. Impressed that even if still in development this OpenGL plugin on Wii, it actually technically works. Tested also Tekken 2 and also very close to full speed.

I have GCSX for swiss 0.6 on an Sd gecko. I replaced the old appllication by yours but when i select anything (isos or bios...) and try to open it from the sd card, i can see folders written in red but can't open it to acces the files.

PS: Now it works with the version posted on friday 17th march.

Oh, sd gecko now works with gcsx? that's great!
When you say it works with the version posted on friday 17th march do you mean the swiss version or the gcsx version?

Latest builds of WiiSX and CubeSX with Lightrec until git 7261a1e
https://github.com/emukidid/pcsxgc/commit/7261a1e512000a75c394a72a24fa42c878c28565

Latest change is optimizing once again the pixel conversion and enable L2Enhance on Wii, which @emu_kidid said, this would give to all games a small speed benefit of 10%, also some fixes to DFSound and Lightrec implementation on WiiSX from the creator of Lightrec, pcercuei.

Compiled with Lightrec library until git e78ab28

Please test these builds, thanks :)

Hi SaulFabre, I've tested with R-TYPE Delta, I would say the Gain in Speed is much more, maybe around 20% to 25%!! it is even quicker with overclock program, so quick that's it's Haaard for me again in this game!! Your work in awesome!! Speed it not a problem anymore in Wiistation with Lightrec!!
A nice addition to wiistation would be to be able to play with the analog stick and directionnal D-pad Cross at the same time like in some other emulators....Also I think a "play game" button is not really needed, It should launch the game selected when you select a game like in genplus-gx, what do you think?
Post automatically merged:

Thunderforce5 game crashes with WIISTATION Lightrec during trying to pass level 1 Boss, it gives black screen with error messages or reboots, i've checked multiple time, same thing with WIISX Lightrec, but it doesn't do that with the Dynarec version. So the Lightrec has much more performance but less compatibility for Games. At the moment I am checking quite a few games.
