I'm having a hard time getting HOS working on a kiosk unit. Not sure if I'm an idiot with the custom kiosk atmosphere or if it's an issue with the pi firmware.
- Flashed 2.5+unlock
- 47ohm resistors on dat0, cmd, clk
- glitched quickly.
when launching fusee.bin from hekate I get these errors

From hekate launch I get this

If anyone has a known working sd config that should work on a kiosk unit please zip it up and dm it over if possible. There's a good chance that I'm just goofing up on the software end.

Not sure if you know, but kiosk need a special version of atmosphere if you have the correct pi firmware.

some lighter uf2 unlock doesn't work, only the 4mb one, can you try this new version?
once this one is tested I"ll upload to my aio thread.

quick question, after a firmware update does the chip need to be reset (like the Oled chips)
If so how does one reset the chip

I didn't catch the part where I needed to unlock it lol. Got it sorted.

So the full cost breakdown if you already having a soldering iron, solder, and flux then it comes out right at $30 for everything else. Wire, Flex Cable, the correct kind of double sided tape, 2040 Pico, and resistors.

So the most expensive part for me (aside from console) was the flex which was $15 then $15 shipped. But pico zero was 5 bucks, so depending on region 20-30 if you have everything else

according to rehius, it will desync.

i tried it on sysnandcfw and daybreak showed this message,

(on emummccfw daybreak works like normal)

Updating via ninty servers on sysnand ofw no desync/modchip crash so far unlike normal hwfly

I think they mean if horizon (the switch OS) gets an update?

Please use the resistors especially if you are booting sysnand
Not booting anything but hekate and slow mode warning. Would the resistors be the reason? I have to wait for delivery to test. Backing up 32gb and boot 0/1 to write to another module just to rule that out.

is the toshiba fix on 2.5? can't get any toshiba switch to boot, i've tested on several switches with toshiba, when i swap out to a samsung or hynix, it boots pretty fast consistently

edit-- written toshiba contents to samsung, and it works, infinite glitch on toshiba
As I know, some Toshiba eMMC are still not working, but unfortunately it's hard to do anything without actually having them in hands. You can only wait for new versions for now

No, it detects the update and resets automatically. Please do that either from Full Stock, or OFW mode (no SD + Vol- & Vol+), daybreak or Semi-Stock does not update BOOT0 which is required for the proper OFW work. The another way is to use daybreak, boot Full Stock through Hekate and perform the full system reset, this would fix the BOOT0 as well

Possible to do a debug via hekate?
Sadly you would need a decent logic analyzer like DSLogic, since glitch does not work it is impossible to boot Hekate

ohoh i had an accident on the apu some how i rip off a cap does anyone know the value?
and is ther maybe the same one on a v1 erista board?
It is 100nF cap, funny enough that you can use ones right from the pico board itself (the VIO ones closest to the rp2040 chip)

"Like OLED chips" means to reset the training data, so that it'll retrain (but HWFLY also injects its own thing into boot0 or whatever... right? Not entirely sure what this project does, because I don't have a need for it at the moment. I did install my own HWFLY though (thus me not needing this right now... but boy has it been an interesting ride...)

but anyway, from the FAQ in the spoilers:

Q: Chip reset? Learning?
A: Short pin 0 to either 1 or GND. Reset internal statistics.

So if I'm understanding correct after the update to the next fw you need to reset the switch to stock if you used daybreak or updates to semi stock?

So update in full ofw then the reset isn't needed?

Yes, you are right.

Until you do the full reset, the "Reset to OFW", boot in "Vol+ & Vol-" and boot without chip would give the blue or black screen due to BCT mismatch

are ther any also on the erista board cause is have 3 donor boards ?
Same place, CPU caps. But I can assure you, pico board should work fine without them :)

    Interesting lol

I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb
    +1
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding
    +1
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways
