Hey all, first topic. Just wanted to see if any of you know how to better optimize PCSX ReARMed on Retroarch to run Suikoden II. For the most part it runs beautifully and there are only notable issues during more graphically intense spells / boss attacks. Obviously I think this is simply due to the underpowered nature of the N3DS, but I'm curious if anyone here could help me optimize this (playing S2 on my N3DS truly is a dream, and I can deal with the major slowdown during spells).

To begin, I'm using .chd version of the game. I updated to the latest release of PCSX ReARMed (helped with an audio issue I was experiencing during FMVs). I'm running it with VSync on, and have all the GPU plugin settings on (Hi-res downscaling the most important). Frame duping is on and I've set the Threaded Rendering to Synchronous (which gives it an amazing 60 fps). Messing around hasn't given me much if any improvements to the spell / boss attacks slowdown, but I might be missing something. Turning on Frameskip (Threshold) with the lowest threshold percent (15%) does improve things very slightly but then it also slightly messes up things elsewhere.

As stated before, it certainly could just be the scenario. The fact I'm getting to run S2 on my N3DS at all is amazing, but if I could get this one part figured out it would be perfect. Thanks for any replies, even if it's a "that's just the way it is" lol.
