Hi guys , Could anyone upload a video on how to install the pico in the OLED mentioning the type of wires needed whether 0.28/0.33/0.36 mm and how many soldering points to be connected and most importantly how to flash the pico chip with the new firmware please
If you have to ask these questions, you’re better off asking someone to install it for you. Not trying to put you down or anything. It’s just no picnic.

Lite you could probably do just fine with minimal skills and a sthetix video. Hell, leerz might have just done it above in the video without a scope (wow). But oled? That’s a different league.

I am a Physicist and already studied electronics back in the days and already purchased all of the soldering equipments and components thank God I didn't order HWFLY chip cuz I got 10 of picos awhile ago from Ali , I want to learn everything about modding already knew how to dismantle my OLED parts I am a newbie 😎

wow, Close my eyes for 2 days and everything goes crazy, the advance was big, thanks a lot for all your effort and time.

Will be then soon a Git with the code? or the new firmwares will be only on UF2 format?.

the code will help with the lots of different boards around with different pin-outs.

Congrats tempers, this is the max example of collaboration!!!

In that case, look at YT for sthetix’s tutorials. That should be enough to get you started. :)

Pico is better for about 67 reasons…
Lets be completely honest here.

Is there an advantage to Picofly over the current glitch chips? Currently, I don't think so. Picofly is more advanced to install for a novice requiring many more intricate solder points than a HWFly. While @rehius's firmware is good, don't get me wrong, it has a few shortcomings that could be implemented to make it better. For one, a way to remember the last successful glitch state for faster booting once trained. For two, faster training.

As of now, HWFly does training faster. And has the advantage of being easier to install, at least for now.

It has a really nice statistics algorithm. The more you boot, the better it boots.

It has no training mode, but it saves every successful boot. If you have a good soldering (and not the damn Toshiba eMMC), 10 boots later you get a really well results

Afaik, hwfly guys have already prepared rp2040 boards just in case, so it's a matter of days

We can't know any of that and just have to trust your word. That's good to know it does save successful glitches, though. In theory once it boots a few times successfully, if you're algorithm is good, you should be right in that the results should be adequate.

For Mariko It depends on the eMMC installed and the mosfet soldering quality. I did my best there. It would be great if you could make a better algo.

Dumb question, though I need to ask: in order to get a permanent rp2040 install, I should flash it, desolder the buttons and USB-C connector and it should fit inside an OLED shell for example?
If a FW update would eventually become available, from my understanding is that we could flash it via Hekate in a similar way that rehius explained for the unlock feature without the need to resolder the usb port?

My plan was to make it train. Might be slower than HWFly at first, but I think with some time I can get it pretty close or even faster. And also make it store the last working glitch state so that once it is trained it boots immediately.

Yes, it is better to desolder buttons + USB-C + 3.3v regulator. However I was able to fit the whole chip by cutting the metal cover, had a tiny bump after assembling.

The firmware still has no software update feature, that had been planned for the future version. I highly doubt you would need to ever update it.

It appears the glitch timings depends on many many things like time from the poweroff, kind of the poweroff, console temperature. (the current algo considers this). But of course you can try your way
