heh I also never believed that genuine hori products are sold on dealextreme. If you want genuine products, the best bet is going to gamestop. I got my hori for my PSP from there for $5 (not bad imho) and couldn't be happier.

Well, I got my screen protectors from my friend, which look real.
HOWEVER please tell me if they /are/ because there are some things I'm doubtful about.

1. No cloth with the screen protectors included however there was no "softcard" thingy

2. The bottom screen protector had a blue plastic thing I needed to peel off

3. The screen protectors didn't come in any sort of plastic slip/bag

4. They had tabs like the fake ones but no writing, I presume to help pull off the other bits.

5. They have the yellow stickers.

6. not as many bubbles as my fake one.

7. Feels a bit thin, and smooth like i'm on the touch screen itself

8. IMPOSSIBLE to get off, even witht he scotch tape trick. It won't budge!!!

i bought the fake hori protectors from deal extreme and they worked great. i screwed up the first time because the instructions are backwards. the second time around it just came on perfectly with no bubbles or distortions and crystal clear.

i've have used legit and fake hori screen protectors and there is no difference at all. The packaging might be slightly washed out but the actual screen protectors are the same. IF you cant get bubbles out then stick to non portable console devices. Thank god u dont have to put a screen protector on your TV. it would be just too too hard for you.

There is definitely a difference. I used fake ones which scratch after one spinning thing on eba (not even pressing hard) and it left an half inch long scratch on my touch screen. And I also read an article that said if there are a tremendous amount of bubbles, then it's fake. And I even made my sis try and put it on for me (cos she's the screen protector queen and hers [non hori branded] has not even a bubble) and she couldn't even do it. Plastic shavings off the screen protector when you draw a circle? Does that sound normal?

Your "fake" ones might be good fakes. But mine aren't. So if you're going to generalise and say all fake hori ones are the same, I'm sorry but I have to disagree. Not fake screen protectors are the same. And you can't just say all of them are the same just cos you tried one batch of fake ones.

And if you say fake and real ones are the same, then I might as well not buy Hori ones, cos if they're the same as my fake ones as you so claim, then they suck.

You think it's hard for me putting screen protectors on? Well I think it was just too hard for you to get your facts straight.

lol i actually chuckled because of how offended you sounded because of screen protectors. calm down.

i got a fake hori and my screen looks perfectly ok. I think you need to get your facts straight.

I got Hori Screen Protectors from GamingLagoon a few weeks ago and I can't tell if there real or good fakes.

the "box" picture wasn't blurry, the cloth looked the real one, it was all Japanese writing- except on the tabs of the screen protectors, it had english writing on 2 or all of tabs, can't really remember. the tab instructions were backwards , which annoyed me because I couldn't tell how to get them on for a few minutes. They sticked on fine and I got the few small bubbles out easily.

so, did Hori add english to them now, or is it a fake?

hmm... I got a PSP one that had the "step 1" and "step 2" tabs, but there is no problem with it at all. Are you sure that they aren't just different batches or something?

Edit: Looks like I did get a fake one, but there isnt really a problem with the screen protector at all...

heads up about the fake Horis from DX. i just got some new ones and they actually corrected the instructions - so if you got a new batch you can now trust the instructions. how would you know? if the sticker with the one says, peel this first then it is correct.

also, the bottom protector is now larger and fits in tightly without even a hairline of space around the edges. while this looks nicer, consider how difficult it will be to remove.

damn people if you guys all care so much about buying legit Hori protectors, just buy it for 7.43 at DX. You know if it matters to you that much, its worth the time and probably money to get the genuine one, as you might have already gone through a couple of fake ones already.

it's just a different of 6$ for a fake vs a real one. 6 lousy dollars.

i for one am super happy with the fake ones and 6 dollars may not be a lot of money but it is a lot of money for a piece of plastic. when the product costs as much to produce as it's packaging then you can't help but to feel ripped off.
