I found a page where there are about 40 ready-to-go N64 titles on this app. Is there a way to extract the DTZs? Because there, for example WWF No Mercy works flawlessly.
Hey I'm also a huge no mercy fan, wondering if you have a good working setup you can share with me. Either via retroarch or the new cavedatabase online emulator?

I know I have taken a step back from this thread, and the discord. So I figured I should say something. But first.

As always, I will be updating CaVE for Goldeneye as soon as I can. I have no clue how long it might take though. They have made effort to properly support 16:9 natively for the game, and I don't know what changes they have made to do it. Assuming its a new lclassics.titlesdb param like everything else, ill have to adjust some things.

That said, if you are using the Widescreen mod... be prepared to have to either remove, or update it. Undoubtibly, the files used in that mod will have been updated by NERD. So I will have to update or remove that mod from my site myself.

CaVE is now updated for NSO N64 v2.9, the Goldeneye update!

---

It turns out that Goldeneye is not going to require as much effort to update CaVE for. It only added one setting, and didn't change the UI as I expected. But... there is a caveat.

More or less, Goldeneye is incompatible with the Widescreen mod. If you use that, load GE, and switch on the 16:9 setting... it will cut off the sides of the screen. So GE wide screen mode is only properly available without the mod. Maybe a patch can be made for the ROM, but thats outside of my scope.

Anyway, 16:9 in GE is only available in game play. Not menus. And its not enabled by default. You have to pause the game and select it in the menu.

Is it possible to make custom control mappings with this? Golden eye is almost unplayable with handheld mode no matter what button choise i use.

Also i don't know what i do wrong here but when i start game it't very laggy and it has many gametextures missing. I used the same rom as source what i have in retroarch so that' should be ok and i used the metadata as instructions guides. And i have not added anything extra. No idea why this is happening.i have do this a couple of times now and same result every time.

I just want to give a big thank you to DarkAkuma for continuing to support and update this project. I haven't really been following this for a good year or so but it's great to see the Cave database alive and well.

Ok. NSO GB and NSO GBA have been announced and released!

I will be working on updating CaVE as soon as I can. I don't think it should take too long at this point of CaVEs development. But who knows... At the earliest? Tomorrow. But assuming it might take a day or 2 longer would be wise.

As for Sloop and Hiyoko... I wont be removing support for them. They will likely simply just be not recommended to use..

ok buddy, I never stopped here to thank you for what you've been doing. I like CaVE a lot! So, thank you!

That said, I was surprised on how quick you talked about GB and GBA, and I'm really excited as those are systems that I use a lot of rom hacks for.

I don't know how messy is going to be make those hacks work (some hacks use all sorts of crazy mappers, and the NSO emulator may not support some of those), but I'll try anyway.

I can only do some preliminary work on things tonight. More will have to wait until after I have had some sleep.

Gist is... There are a couple new titlesdb params that will require a CaVE UI adjustment or reworking to support. So that would take a bit. But I may not need to bother supporting those at all. Not sure yet.

While GB roms look fine, GBA however... look to have some changes to them versus standard format gba roms. Header, footer and some compression? I have only looked over the formatting a little atm, but if its anything like sfrom headers/footers... well don't expect this support right away. The hope for "tomorrow" that I posted earlier, seems VERY unlikely.

I would certainly love if the apps, given they somehow support Multiplayer, will allow for more than just playing, stuff like trading (Pokemon), or transferring (Golden Sun to GS TLA, Oracle of Ages to/from Seasons, etc).

my humble belief is that they pushed oracle games to future batches is exactly to iron out link cable functionality.

other game confirmed for the near future is Kirby Tilt 'n Tumble that is a motion sensor cartridge, so they pushed back the release of all the games that are not easy to emulate I believe.

Then again, the Oracle games don't need a link cable to transfer, nor the Golden Sun games. Transfer can be done via code, so while I would definitely love this to be the reason, I'm not sure if that is the reason.

Temporary solution until you’re able to use cave to add your games

For you impatient people lol JK, if you want to play a different GB title simple rename the .gb game name to C-3381_e.gb, add it to the C-3381_e folder attached below, then add the title id folder to atmosphere contents folder. It will replace the games and watch title. ENJOY, dark is hard at working updating CaVE
