He wasn't referring PS4 game running off PS4, he was referring to PS4 game running off PS5. Basically previous gen game on newer gen console.
But I was talking about playing PS2 games on a PS2.

Of course PS2 game would run on PS2 system.
According to the list I showed you, not all PS2 games work on all PS2 models.
You can't expect everything to be 100% compatible, I mean nothing is perfect.
Well, for me that doesn't make sense since those games were developed for that console.
Well it doesn't mean it won't run at all, you can't expect all PS2 games to run on every model of ps2. Beside it is a wiki page, it is edited by everyday people like me and you.
Depends on which slim you have. The SCPH-70011/70012/70001 models have the same compatability as all the previous "fat" PS2 models did. But the SCPH-75001 does indeed have a list of about a dozen games that no longer worked on that specific model. (Or had some minor graphical glitches....)According to the list I showed you, not all PS2 games work on all PS2 models. That's precisely my point.
"Full PS2 Games Compatibility" is a bit overhyped. Is the new Evilnat version (4.89.3) really compatible with all PS2 games like it's stated? In that case, are PS2 CONFIG Database and the PS2 Classics Emulator Compatibility List redundant?

The only game that as far as I know doesn't work at all with a slim is Final Fantasy XI (because of the missing hard drive)

PS2 compatibility is not "full". It is "good" if you use the PS2 CONFIG database. Without the configs, it would be "okay".
BTW there are games with issues even on consoles with full backward compatibility.
In general, it always makes the most sense to play games on the hardware they were made for
1. It just won't work or will display an error code or something similar (graphical glitches, etc.).What happens if running those PS2 games in those PS2 models uding OPL?
Is the compatibility better with PS2 CONFIG Database installed than OPL'S latest beta release?
1. It just won't work or will display an error code or something similar (graphical glitches, etc.).
2. The ps2 config on the PS3 should not necessarily be compared with OPL on the PS2 (these are different things).
On a PS3 you should always install the config to get the best possible result .........but OPL on a PS2 (preferably FAT) is better
Either something like an error message or it just doesn't start (black screen, return to xmb etc.).I suppose one may also have an error code displayed or something like that if playing the PS1 games with issues on a PS2 using POPStarter and the PS1 games and PS2 games with issues on a PS3 with CFW and PS2 CONFIG Database installed.
Either something like an error message or it just doesn't start (black screen, return to xmb etc.).
I've never used Popstarter myself because the compatibility is said to be pretty bad .......... but on the PS3 I've had no problems with all my PS1 games (regardless of whether retail, iso or patched iso).
Fan translations, Undubs, balance patches etc. that are applied to a game. What do you mean by patched ISO?

Like I said, maybe you did or not, use openps3ftp plugin. I've disabled webman mods ftp in favor of this one. You can ftp on the xmb, so test there.Weird, after reinstalling the CFW, deleting and reinstalling IRISMAN, it isn't freezing when exiting it but it still is when enabling Cobra's FTP.
Also, FileZilla's transfer speed is now very slow when transferring the big PKG file (like less than 1 MiB/s) a second time and I can't make it recover the previous speed. I tried reinstalling FileZilla Evilnat CFW and IRISMAN and I still have this speed issue.
EDIT: It hardly becomes faster, and when it does, it no longer has the original speed.
EDIT 2: Now sometimes it takes a lot of time to return to XMB when exiting IRISMAN.

In what way doesn't it make sense?Ok, but the question here is that for @godreborn it makes sense for some PS2 models to be incompatible with some PS2 games and for me it doesn't.
FTP servers on ps3 are pretty crappy. Always have been. Eventually the PS3 will stop responding until you rebootEDIT: It looks like to make the FTP transfer faster I have to restart the PS3 after each transfer and maybe then it isn't granted I'll have the original FTP transfer speed.

There are multiple revisions of the PlayStation 2, with quite large differences. It's possible that Sony didn't test every single game 100% before releasing each new model.
