Lots of reasons for the decline.
-More people working and focusing on their careers.
-Not enough support from the government for nurseries.
-Rising costs of life.
-An overall disinterest in dealing with the nuisances that family life can bring.

They screw, but they don't feel the need to pop out kids at the same rate as China or India.
You might want to correct the left wing media then. They seem to think Japanese people are not having sex.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/oct/20/young-people-japan-stopped-having-sex

Though it wouldn't surprise me if they are lying about this too.

Interesting read. They mentioned most of my points in there also. Kind of strange that their first interviewee is a dominatrix.

The survey was over 8,400 people, while not tiny, isn't a full picture. It also depends on where they're taking these samples. If they go out to the boonies, I can't imagine anyone there are having sex very much. All the young people move out of the rural cities into the cities. That creates a whole different problem of farmland areas not having young people to work the land.

The young people come to the cities and want to make a name for themselves, so they throw themselves into work. That makes less time for relationships in order to further their careers. People date and screw around, but they get married much later in life. It's taking the "pick yourself up by your bootstraps" thing to the extreme.

It's no surprise that the media would lie. I question every single word they print and say on TV and my first instinct is to not believe what they are reporting.

Apples and oranges. Nobody invaded Russia, they invaded Ukraine knowing full well the West would not stand for it. Putin put himself and his nation in an untenable situation; sometimes the trash decides to take itself out.
Just as the commonality between apples and oranges are that they are both fruit, the commonality between Iraq and Ukraine-Russia is US involvement and intervention. I'm privy to communications with missionaries serving in Ukraine. Aid used for military retaliation seems to only exasperate and perpetuate their suffering by prolonging the conflict.

Regardless of melanin content, skull shape, nationality, developmental stage, ethnic (cultural) background, and any other superficial and arbitrary classification used to deepen the chasm of division, all individuals remain equally human possessing the same right to dignity, possessing the same right to respect, and possessing the same potential to do evil, from the most heinous and overtly guilty of dictators to the embryo resting within the womb. All are Imago Dei.

The commonality is senseless imperialism. The US was wrong to invade Iraq and Afghanistan, just as Russia was wrong to invade Ukraine.

Aid used for military retaliation seems to only exasperate and perpetuate their suffering by prolonging the conflict.
The alternative being what, exactly? Allowing Putin to complete his genocide unimpeded and annex the entirety of Ukraine? You can't tell me with a straight face that wouldn't have caused far more suffering. Nor can you guarantee he wouldn't have continued to invade other countries that previously comprised USSR territory if things were made that easy for him.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day, and even the US ends up on the right side of a conflict about once a century. Abandoning our ally during an unprovoked invasion would've been unethical, immoral, and wholly unjustifiable. Nobody besides Putin can be blamed for Putin's bloodthirsty actions. He's responsible for every dead soldier on both sides, every civilian death, and every refugee that has fled both nations to avoid getting sucked in to his frivolous war. Every new day is a chance for him to make the right choice in ending it, and instead he continues to double down on the wrong one.

It's a very clickbait title. They talked to a dominatrix and described the odd sexual habits of some people, implying that it's a common thing. Then they reference a somewhat small survey to try and make a correlation.

It's what all media (doesn't matter the political leaning) does especially with scientific "breakthroughs". Some scientist finds that adding some chemical causes cancer cells to recede under very specific conditions, and some clickbait journalist will write an article that's titled "Scientists finds cure for cancer?". At least it gets the research papers out there, and potentially helps increase funding.

It's important to differentiate hyperbole from outright lies. Journalism isn't what it used to be, but that's in part due to the public's growing demand for sensationalism. It's impossible to make money without resorting to it every once in a while, as there is too much else vying for our attention in the modern day. The expectation is now instant gratification, whereas in the past people were happy to wait days or even weeks for the full picture of a given news story to take shape.

The media is in the business of normalizing weird behavior. We got a good look at it at the Grammy's.

I've read so many studies over the past 3 years, one of the most important things I've learned is the media lies about studies too.

Didn't you guys know? If the sensational headline is stated as a question, it's no longer a lie :D

Let the people who want to watch it get their enjoyment from it. I'm insulated from most of the pop culture from North America for the most part. Instead I'm bombarded by high-pitched J-pop whenever I go into a convenience store. We're both fully in our right to roll our eyes at it though.

Also, still relevant:

If they want to broadcast satanism, they probably should do it late night when young kids are not watching. That's the way things used to be. Of course, they used to not broadcast satan worship on television to begin with. But don't we dare mention that there are satanic cults in Hollywood. That's just conspiracy nuts. And to top it off, it was advertised by Pfizer. Imagine that.

Oh darn it, we were SO CLOSE to being in complete agreement that the media will do and say whatever they can to get views! Madonna did it with like a virgin and that cone bra. That rapper did it with the satan lap dance. Jannet Jackson had the wardrobe "malfunction". There will be many many more that will come around as long as it makes people watch.

If you weren't sure about my avatar, it's the flying spaghetti monster. It was created to make fun of all religions. For me to watch that video, it would have been the same if they had Satan, Anubis, Hades, and Pluto all up there grinding on each other. They did it for the specific reason that it would trigger people, and get someone like me to watch it when I wouldn't have normally.

People in Hollywood are true believers. They take their satanism very seriously, but when people point out that they are satanists, those people are labeled conspiracy nuts. Can't wait for next year's Grammy's when they do actual child sacrifice. Should be a nail biter.

As long as it's a prop doll, they can go ahead and do that. I'm sure the ratings will go through the roof! People will hate-watch that thing for years!

They aren't true believers since it would definitely get out. The legitimacy of a conspiracy is directly tied to how many people are in on the secret. The more people that need to be in on it, but keep the secret, the more improbable it becomes.

I'll even go a step further and say, they can go ahead and be TRUE Satanists! Go, waste your time and worship yet another fairy tale. Makes no difference to me. As long as they don't break any laws, that's their freedom.

Anyone savvy enough to read between the lines interpreted "stop having sex" to "having less sex" from get-go. I'm not saying I approve of hyperbole, but I am saying it's what most audiences are trained to expect, especially if they grew up in a time before the internet became ubiquitous.

Oh boy, here we go with satanic panic 2.0, funny how history repeats itself. Better start banning Dungeons and Dragons from card and comic shops again.

I wonder how trans people feel about being associated in satanic imagery. They have a hard enough time as it is.

I'm old enough to remember when child sex cults in Hollywood was a conspiracy theory. Then came alone Jeffrey Epstein, NXIVM, and now, The Circle.

https://nypost.com/2023/02/01/dances-with-wolves-actor-nathan-chasing-horse-arrested-for-sex-abuse/

Funny how the left always denies these things too. It's almost like they support satanism and child sex cults. Get used to the conspiracy theorists being right. It's gonna happen a lot more in the future.

That's quite the jump! I missed the part where I said that I said sex cults are alright. We were on the topic of freedom of religion.

And I believe we're in agreement that people who use their power to abuse others is a bad thing. It's nothing new in the slightest. Guys want to surround themselves with beautiful women if they have the ability. Christians and Catholics aren't immune to that part of human nature (I'm sure I don't need to post the many MANY articles that proves my point).

Once again, I'll go to the extreme here and say that even sex cults are totally fine as long as people are doing so of their own volition, and not coerced by money, power or fear. I heard that the Florida retirement scene is full of that stuff. Good for them! I hope they enjoy the rest of their lives to the fullest.

Pretty much took the words right out of my mouth. Pedophilia has no specific race, religion, or political leanings, and anybody suggesting it does is only serving to protect pedophiles within their own little tribe.

Not really. Sam Smith has come out as non-binary and Kim Petras is trans.

Those groups are known and nobody denies what those organizations covered up. People protect Hollywood. People attack those who call Hollywood out for their sick and demented behavior.

Except these "elite" sex cults are not voluntary. Once they can blackmail you, they own you. Some, like NXIVM, would brand their members. Ever wonder why Jeffrey Epstein's and Ghislaine Maxwell's client list has never been released? Hollywood is part of it. It's amazing that people accept that two people were convicted of underage sex trafficking with no clients.

@BigOnYa I wanted to ask you about your experience with seeing south park. Most of the people a bit younger like my younger brother and cousins that are a few younger than me that saw kids found south park funny because of the curse words, kids at school, that seemed like liking the show on a very basic level.

I could not quite have a in depth discussion of the show.

How was it for you? As an adult. What did you find the most interesting part about it. Did you relate to the parents of the kids and their situations. Was it satires, the commentary on society. The references on celebrities' and pop culture.
