Are there any hacks or cheats that would enable Casual Mode (no Permadeath). If not, does it sound like that would even be possible? I know the GBA games have it now, and I even got a cheat for Path of Radiance, and it sounds like a hack is in the works for Radiant Dawn. Shadow Dragon is one of the very few where I haven't been able to find a solution.

Note: I know I can just use save states. I've played it like that before. I don't want to do that again. I want to just see one of my characters die, say "oh well", move on, and the character will still be there next battle.

I would like too but I also prefer that they do it in the EU version of the game and not only for US.

Btw if you know about any cheat related to this for Radiant Dawn let us know :)

I have a link to a Path of Radiance (PAL) cheat, and a Youtube video of the Radiant Dawn hack, but I can't post links (new user).

Test, to see if I can just post a couple more message in a row, so I can post the links.

Edit: I think I can, but I have to wait a while before my 5th total post.

Shadow Dragon is one of the more controversial titles in the series and hasn't really recieved the same treatment from modders. A patch is for sure possible, but it just comes down to someone making one.

Post #5, so I can post links. This video shows the Radiant Dawn Classic Mode hack, but it hasn't been released yet.

Here, I got someone to make a cheat for Casual Mode in Path of Radiance.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (GCN/AR/PAL) - gc-forever - Gamecube/Wii Forums

By the way, if anyone knows of hacks/cheats for Casual Mode in Genealogy/Thracia, I'll take those too.

For the games that don't have patches. It may just be best to reset if a troop is lost. That's how I personally played all of the games before casual mode was added.

I've actually already played all of these games with save states, years ago. I'm just thinking about doing replays now, but I don't want to play them like that again. Restarting a battle just feels like too much wasted time, but I also can't just let a character be permanently dead. Save states work, but I also don't want to have to be bouncing backwards in time when someone dies.

I'm just looking for ways to replay some of the games, while being able to just play every battle from beginning to end (unless I do something REALLY stupid, and have to restart).

If some of the games don't have it yet, I'll just wait for those ones.

I also have this sneaking suspicion that IS is remaking not only Genealogy of the Holy War, but also Thracia 776 (since they're so intertwined). So, that may solve most of my problem, and leave me with only Shadow Dragon to find a solution for.
