This special bootmii folder allows you to configure bootmii to launch a channel that's already installed to your system menu.

This was released a long time ago but I think it's been lost. I'm not sure if maybe it goes by a different name and that's why I can't find it. Does anyone else remember this? In any case, I wanted to re-share in case it's helpful to someone, so here it is!

More info:
A console with bootmii installed as boot2 can autoboot to a channel without needing to use Priiloader. It can be set to launch the Open Homebrew Channel (normally bootmii only can boot into older\closed HBC installations). When bootmii is installed\launched as IOS with this folder saved to SD, it will forward as well. This may not be super useful especially given priiloader exists, but here it is none the less.

To edit what channel gets launched, just adjust the AUTOBOOT1 and AUTOBOOT2 settings in the bootmii.ini file. The example below is currently set up to launch the UNEO channel (USB Loader GX forwarder channel). Note that any lines starting with # are comments and ignored.

If anyone happened to use ModMii to mod their Wii, you may need to use IDCL instead of UNEO to load the USB Loader GX forwarder channel. That worked for me.

This isn't a forwarder channel, but a bootmii folder/example with config that be used to launch something else instead of bootmii when launching "bootmii"

Any app/channel that either calls ios254 (bootmii ios, if installed), or launches the Casper app, or restarts the console (if bootmii installed as boot2) would trigger this config

Thanks for this, I've had BootMii as Boot2 all this time & never knew this. I was going to recently get PriiLoader for this purpose but I guess I don't need to now?

Redoing my Wii so I'll try this soon. Cheers.

To be fair there's still no reason not to install priiloader even if you have bootmii boot2, u can just have both. Priiloader has system menu hacks and ignore idle settings that I personally find useful, to name just a couple examples.

But yes, strickly speaking if you ONLY want priiloader to autoboot something you can probably accomplish it with this bootmii boot2 config in combination with some kind of forwarder channel (assuming wii is bootmii boot2 capable)

Ok, yea I'll go ahead & install PriiLoader too then.

So BootMii as Boot2 won't conflict with PriiLoader? I've currently got my BootMii as Boot2 set to just load into Wii System Menu.

It won't conflict, when your bootmii boot2 loads the system menu, priiloader is triggered in between bootmii and the system menu. If priiloader is set to launch the system menu then it will behave the same as if priiloader was not installed.

To force your way into priiloader, hold reset when bootmii boot2 is booting the system menu at startup. Or use the priiloader launcher / magicword app (comes bundled with priiloader if downloaded via modmii)

Priiloader or priiloader installer is what actually installs priiloader and you'll only need to use it one time (or if later updating to a dif version)

Priiloader launcher or priiloader shortcuter or magic word is just a way of entering the priiloader menu (assuming already installed) without needing to use the reset button on the wii. My XFlak top wii channels thread has a priiloader forwarder channel that does this for example. Or u can run the launcher from the hbc if u prefer. It's just a lazy way of getting into priiloader without getting up to press the reset button on the console

Edit: to be clear, the hbc app "priiloader" is actually the priiloader installer. I find this could confuse users so in modmii its called "priiloader installer". However, when someone says "open/start priiloader" we don't mean to start the installer, we mean access the priiloader menu by holding reset during boot sequence or other methods. So technically the "priiloader" app is not "priiloader" but it installs "priiloader". In modmii I use the name priiloader installer, priiloader launcher and priiloader/priiloader-menu as I find these terms more clear, but this is not so reflected in the official release iirc. Thanks XFlak! All good, PriiLoader now installed, yea I'm already aware about the PriiLoader "app" just being an installer. Thanks for the heads up! Yea I can understand how this could confuse people but I did read nicely into it.

Lazy's my middle name. That sounds nice to have. I think like on my 3rd time holding reset to get in I was already complaining to myself. Cheers for the link, downloaded!

I checked out your top Wii Channels thread then from there to your PriiLoader Shortcut Channel thread. Woah you've definitely been around, awesome stuff.

Just a bit confused with the PriiLoader Launcher app vs PriiLoader Shortcutter vs Magic Word, please let me know if I have this right so far :::

- Magic Word = The original/unmodified shortcut/forwarder for PriiLoader.
- PriiLoader Shortcut/Forwarder = Your modified version of Magic Word. This is to launch PriiLoader from the HBC.
- PriiLoader Silent Channel/WAD = Install this WAD to run PriiLoader from Wii System Menu as a Channel.
- Bootmii_Booter.dol = To run BootMii from PriiLoader.
- Is PriiLoader Launcher the same as PriiLoader Shortcut/Forwarder but one is newer or it changed name??

Would I have to rename the Bootmii_Booter.dol to boot.dol & does it need to be in a specific folder/foldername in my apps folder?

Oh man, from memory and from my mobile I can't give complete answers easily, especially when my left hand has to stay tilted downward with this f'ing IV all day! Lol! I'll give a partial answer and if no one fills in the blanks I should be more capable in a week or so

**correct, iirc this is basically a channel with the magic word dol embedded, so it should work even without sd/usb

**on DacoTaco's priiloader github is where I got the launcher dol from iirc but it may have been named differently, from what I understand it's a slightly updated version of the magic word dol, but the old/original magic word dol should still work, I'm not sure what slight changes were made to it though, but I'm confident they were minor from a functionality perspective anyway
