I'm upgrading my SD card on my modded switch. How would I go about transfering/cloning my current 256gb onto the 1tb card?

Have SD RAW PARTITION not the file unfortunately.

Check Shetix' video on youtube, there you have a complete guide.
Found this guide here, but it says I only need 30gb to back up my emunand. Where are all the games? Surely there must be more to it than just backing up those two archives.

What folder are installed games stored on?

Try with NX Nand Manager. With this tool you can migrate the complete emunand and content from your old sd card to another one larger

Where are installed NSI files located on the memory card? Answer my question instead of linking the guide. If you don't understand what I am asking, don't even worry about it. How much storage do I need on the SD card I want to back up in order to hold the backup files created by Hekate?
https://rentry.org/EmuNANDNewSDcard you are transferring emu to another card and then just copying the files from sd but do it as the instructions says. I was doing it for around a month using all the methods but i will let you choose yours because i kinda dont like you now :D

PS. that 30gb it is only emu, games are still on sd ;P use your head and find the biggest folder of them all and you will find out your answer.

You can use emutool to convert your hidden partition emunand to file base then move it.

I am not on a windows computer. May have to just use Hekate. I read on a different guide that I need to clear 30gb of space on my emunand, is this correct?

I think so for emu backup and you do not need to delete any games i mean you do but you can copy them by DBI to your pc or somewhere before you will delete them.

This guide explains how to do it both for partition based and file based emummc. Just follow that guide and you will get everything copied over.
The installed games are located in the emummc\Nintendo folder on the SD card. They are also copied to the new SD card if you follow the guide.

Please note if you have a partition based EmuMMC the step 13 is VERY important. Otherwise you will overwrite your SysMMC instead.

I just did this, on hekate ( I'm on the latest) I went into the tools tab, clicked on where it says Backup eMMC and it gives you 4 options to choose from(boot 0&1, eMMC RAW GPP, eMMC sys, eMMC user), at the bottom of this screen there should be something that says 'SD emuMMC Raw Partition' you'll want to click on it and it'll say on and then the options to do back up will be SD emuMMC boot 0 & 1 and SD emuMMC RAW GPP go ahead and do both. The backup of your boot 0&1 files and full emuMMC backup will be in the in the folder backup/(random letters)/emummc. You need to put the files into restore folder within the backup folder. you'll want to transfer those files in the backup folder to the new SD along with the folder emuMMC folder in the root of the SD card to the new SD card. Before you transfer the files you'll want to heave already created a partition for the emuMMC in the new SD card along with your other files for hekate and atmosphere and whatever else you'll be transferring onto the SD card. Remember that when you create the new partition on the new SD to only have the essential files to load into hekate or if you have too many things it wont be able to backup your files already there and you'll need to retransfer them. Once your SD has the new partition and is ready to restore you'll go back into the tools tab in hekate and this time hit restore eMMC, once again you'll click at the bottom where it says SD emuMMC Raw Partition so that it restores to the partition and not your regular emmc (it'll show on after you touch it) restore your boot 0 & 1 and your raw gpp. Your new SD should now have your emuMMC from your original sd.

One tip is when you transfer your emuMMC folder from the root of the original SD card don't transfer over the emummc.ini with in because the new SD card will create a new one when you create the partition on your new SD showing which sector to look for the emuMMC, if you do overwrite it the simple fix within hekate is to go to emuMMC on the home tab, hit migrate emuMMC and click Fix Raw, it'll rewrite the correct sector on the .ini file. I hope this helps, this is what I went through to transfer my emuMMC onto a new SD card. It is really simple from what I went through and I'm sure if you haven't done it yet what I wrote will help you out and sorry for long sloppy paragraph as it's late where I'm at.

To also answer one of your previous questions you'll basicallly need 30 free gigs on your original SD card to make a backup to fit everything at once.

Edit: Figured out solution, now my games won't load. I can boot into emunand without a problem on the new SD card, but every single game shows as corrupt data.

Did you copy the Emummc folder over to the new SD card.
Did you format the new card as FAT32 og ExFAT? (FAT32 recommended)

Fixed Using this kind users solution https://gbatemp.net/threads/games-h...-sd-card-using-partition-based-emummc.623818/ . If he hadn't replied to his own thread, I would not have been able to solve this issue. His last post fixed the problem.

Any explanation as to why my switch wasn't turning on after reboot? Everything seems to be working great now.

Never go with YT videos they are ALWAYS outdated and generally wrong, try instead the official guide:

And if you use the search at top of gbatemp, you will find some tutorials, some tools and at least two threads about the process.

I will be glad to use the search as soon as you read the latest post before commenting.

I never used a YouTube tutorial. I used rentry. Please read what my solution to the problem was. It was something that was not covered in the guide.

Edit: For anyone struggling with the same issue, here is the fix "Tools ➜ Arch bit • RCM Touch • Pkg1/2 ➜ Fix Archive Bit"

By what method you migrate your sd?
