Gaming Microsoft to delist several games from the XBox store in February 7th

Microsoft just announced the following games will be delisted for purchase next February 7th:

Some regional variances may occur from country to country, check the source for that. Considering some Xbox consoles like the Series S is digital only, this means a loss of many titles to many players.

On a personal note, I urge to check out Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon, both 360 Exclusives, playable on Xbox One and Enchanced in X and Series, true spiritual successors to the first 11 Final Fantasys by the series creator.

lost odyssey and blue dragon will still be available after feb 7th since theyre available on the modern xbox store as well. some notable backwards compatible games that WILL disappear though are daytona usa, skate 2, jet set radio and the valve games incl the orange box

Is there confirmation that things will not be removed from the XBox One side of the store?

Those are some curious ones. I understand (even if I laugh at) ones with various licensed music, names, cars and whatever but most of those are fairly banal on that front, several quite good and even representative of an era titles.

Another one in the I told you all this would happen camp I guess.

My theory is that sales fell below server maintenance cost. Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon are all Microsoft IPs but they are 3 and 4 discs each.

I mean if you own them digitally, you'll still be able to download them. Between the life expectancy of a disc and the hosting service, don't know what would more. So far, while there isn't legislation on it (that there should), companies seem to abide to the standard that is "if you bought you get to download it while we exist". Steam been around for 20 years, some discs have rotten in that time frame. The timeframe to buy them I usually much bigger in digital. Some games stay up in shelves for a few years at most and over a decade digitally.

Well out of all of those games the only ones I really care about are Daytona USA and Ghoulies. I would definitely urge people to pick up Daytona USA as its the definitive version of the game and it has not been ported to anywhere else. I think Ghoulies is on Rare Replay but I dont own an Xbox One or Series X.

Daytona is in the XBox One store but says "you can't buy it separately". Separately from what?
