The missus was well keen on this one, but she's exclusively played Game Pass games recently, then found out it wasn't coming to that ...and then I told her the rrp - so she's cooled off quite a bit haha!
Definitely waiting for reviews now, and probably gonna 'arrr!' the PC version even if reviews are good, before splashing out on it.

I wonder how many people who are intending to boycott this game due to JKR, and pirate it instead, realise that the only person who cracks and releases these Denuvo games is openly transphobic.. or maybe that doesn't matter when it's free?
Useful to know but I don't use their cracks so not relevant to me personally.
An obvious and significant difference is that JKR is an incredibly well known person who already uses her position of influence to hurt vulnerable people, and says she takes people spending money on HP shit as approval of her bigotry. Some anonymous nerd who I knew nothing about yesterday and now know only what you wrote in your post doesn't have anything like the same level of influence or ability to cause harm.
skipping. backlogs too big to even chance a game that could be remotely pushing an agenda i don't believe in. the books came out when i was a child. i'm an adult now. harry potter is so far away from when i read it it's not something i have stakes in anymore either.

Anyway, I pre-ordered the digital deluxe version a week or so ago on PS5 for the exclusive PS content. $85 felt pretty steep becasue I VERY, VERY rarely do pre-orders, but I had gotten $75 of PSN credit for $55 and used that to bring it down a bit.
Maybe not, but Empress is pretty well known in the "scene" and there has been a lot of backlash about her various rants in nfos. A lot of people actually thought she was trans, but she made a statement to correct that.
I can't remember which nfo it was, but it said something like all trans women are men, which is very similar to the twitter post that JKR liked that set all this in motion.
Either way, I'm looking foward to the game as I have a thing about flying around on broomsticks!

I'll probably get the game, but kinda strapped on cash for the moment due to having to buy a new laptop. I did manage to nab one of those hogwarts, dual sense controllers yesterday though from playstation. the website kept crashing just trying to get it, and I think it sold out shortly after I got it. it was bad, but no where near as bad as getting the xenoblade chronicles special edition. that one took me all day of refreshing. Nintendo was definitely unprepared.
TBH they look very nice, I wish I had one of those for my PS4, but being as I have no intention of buying a PS5 until it's hacked I'll just need to be jealous of you in the meantime :-), serioulsy though they do look sweet, you were lucky you got it as they sold out fast as hell in UK and USA.
I'd like to play it but will probably never find time for it. There are other games I want to play more.
I am just pirating this game for the sake of pirating it. I've never been a Harry Potter fan, I just enjoy pirating AAA games.

I don't give a shit about Harry Potter, never did, even as a kid. But seeing the game, it honestly looks pretty fun. I'll probably wait for a crack, and for the PC version to get patched. I heard the PC version is god awful.
As for the boycott, only thing I can say is LMAO! Not even the admin of Resetera actually boycotted the game, and he banned all discussion of the game on his website. Also, LMAO at all the comments deleted on the front page.

I'm not a Harry Potter fan (not my type of movies to watch), but the game definitely looks fun! And what's the important part about games? Being enjoyable, fun!
