Hi,

I've bought a retail copy of PGA 2K23 and tried to play it on my jailbroken 9.0 PS4. Only after opening the packaging did I realise the base game requires 9.6. Is there anyway of bypassing this restriction without upgrading my FW?

As a side-note it would be really useful if Orbis would list the base FW requirements, as I did look on there before breaking the seal on the packaging!

Thanks!

Darn.

So how complex is it, I wonder, if I dump the game to fpkg and mod the resulting file to change the MinFW value?

I'm assuming this information would be in some sort of header? Anybody got experience of this?

If you put the disc in the drive it usually says “You need to update to X.XX to play this game”.

I have put 9.xx discs in my 5.05 to check the firmware required.

As @Hayato213 said: you can’t run it without updating, so you cannot dump it.

The people backporting titles (Opoisso and Cyber) know about this, it’s way more complicated. Modules and files need downgrading or replacing, and PSN & kernel call backs need patching out to get past bottlenecks.

It’s a tricky per-title process, a one for all approach is impossible.

They also get dumped decrypted files from <sources>..

Just thought of this, but it will depend on sdk, but can't you dump games on the ps5, 4.03? Maybe try that, and build the game as you normally would.
