From English side i might be biased but for me its Bobby Charlton. won everything with club and nation after all he went through with the Munich air disaster.

From Turkish side people might think its Hakan Şükür but for me its Tugay Kerimoğlu.

Ooooh tough! Any rules like they had to play International football or just general opinions?? Any time frame??

Top of my head Kenny Dalglish who I believe was voted ours but I'd maybe throw in a few curve balls such as Andy Dick. Ajax legend and one of Cruyffs favourite players of all time he once said of his teams star.

Good topic @Flame. Gotta agree with your choice for obvs reasons but I honestly thought you'd have went with Sir Stanley!

Aw man, too many now! Especially from 1967 :ha: of course Jimmy Johnston but I'll let @AmandaRose wax lyrical about Jim Baxter who was a genius aswell.

I'm gonna have a wee think about this one, i gotta dig deep and narrow some down but wait.... Do we not get to count Maradona as one of ours?? We certainly do :rofl2::yay:

100% Agree that Rangers legend Tugay Kerimoğlu is the greatest Turkish player.

Baxter was an absolute legend but I would also have to throw Davie Cooper into the mix as well. And perhaps super Ally also.

But definitely hard choice between them and Dalglish and Jinky Johnstone.

Had it not been for that cunt at Aberdeen deliberately injuring Ian Durrant then we wouldn't even be debating who is the greatest he would have won it easily.

As for greatest ever English player no debate needed its clearly Gazza :)

Na, Chris Sutton  :rofl2:

How could I forget about Cooper tho... Outstanding talent.

On the Celtic side and also in my lifetime, gotta be Paul McStay. Wasted at us unfortunately at that time.

McStay could have played for pretty much any team in Europe he was that good.

From Celtic you could also put another player in the debate. Probably the best defender I have ever seen and that would be Danny McGrain.

Was gonna mention him too... The best meme I ever saw was a picture of Che Guevara wearing a Danny McGrain t shirt in the Che Guevara style! Classic!

it's impossible to answer this one for Brazil. There was Pele and Garrincha, people who played with and against both many times have not a definitive answer. I still think Pele have an edge just because Garrincha got a very problematic late career (a bad knee and alcohol addiction). Also, the fact that the early Garrincha's career was mostly not recorded do not help his fame.

The best player after our golden era (until 1970) is Zico I believe. The best one I witness playing was Dener, but he died way too young to actually build a career (yes, I do believe he was better than the Ronaldos and that Neymar thing).

do we have any Argentinian members who post in the football group? i wonder who they say...

I doubt an Argentinian would choose somebody instead of Maradona.
