you mean this one? Can he even update via sys update on baned switch?
Only one type of ban prevents system updates which are CDN bans. CDN bans were first implemented as an effort to stop people from abusing CDN downloading back when CDNSP was widely used. However, Nintendo (eventually) added authentication token generation that lasts for 24 hours as a way to stop CDNSP from being abused and hackers never publicly released a way to generate these tokens. Because of this, they eased up on most, if not all, CDN bans. Nobody should no longer be CDN banned and thus even banned consoles can download system updates.

@BigOnYa I'm trying to understand the issue here. The user you quoted didn't have any further questions nor dilemmas so everything seems resolved on their side. Is there something else you wish to assist them with? Or do you only seek answers to the questions you posed?

I don't know, I guess they can ask again here if they have issues.

Are there any custom UI's or themes for the Switch? I'm currently running the most updated atmosphere and want to see what my options are.

Hey guys, is it possible to expand the switchroot storage without a full reinstall?
Thanks in advance!
The canned tools that do the partitioning do not have provisions for expanding your partitions. I have done it but you have to go in at the gparted level and carve it up that way. Best practice is to backup your partitions before you start slicing and dicing, and once you’ve done that…you might as well just repartition the entire thing with the provided tools and restore from backup. It‘s much cleaner that way.

e:If you want to get your hands dirty (and risk mucking up your data) here is the information you need to do so.

There is a lot of information on what causes bans, the different types of bans, and how to avoid bans. All of that information can be found in the banning thread.

Does it or should it matter when you press R on a game to get to homebrew which game you do it on?

I say this because on some games if I highlight them and load up retroarch I can get slight performance issues, but using different games to highlight can cause no issues whatsoever.

I can reproduce this time and time again.

I didn't think it would matter what game you used, or have I got an issue somewhere in how things are set up?

Title override is only meant for official Ninty games. Things like Tinfoil and Retroarch fall more on the Homebrew side of the equation and you’ll get varied results. Just use official games.

Hi guys. I need your help please! I have a mariko switch with the chip and sx core. I want to put atmosphere on it. So i went to original firmware and downloaded the latest version of the console. Now the switch is in black if i turn it on. Time to install atmosphere. My problem comes when I have to inject the payload of hekate. It just freezes on the laptop. I don´t know why. the error says: "invoking tegrarcmsmash.exe with args"

I have another switch and I didn´t have this problem. Any clue? Thank you!!

Hello everyone,
I am currently experiencing an issue with my emunand. It is located on a hidden 30GB partition.
I am currently using FW 15.0 on my Switch and have been successfully using Atmosphere 1.4.0 for several months.
However, when I attempted to update to the newer version of Atmosphere 1.4.1, something went wrong.
Now, when I try to boot my emunand through Hekate 6.0.1, it gets stuck on the Switch logo screen.

I have made a backup of my SD card, the emunand, and formatted the Atmosphere partition (not the emunand partition).
I then copied fresh Atmosphere files from Github to my SD card, including the bootloader from Hekate Github and KIP patches,
but it still won't proceed past the Switch logo screen. The sysMMC and the CFW sysMMC boot just fine.

What should I do now? Should I format the emunand partition and apply the backup?
The emuMMC_Backup_Check tells me that my RAWNAND.bin is fine

glitch chip or rcm injector?

did you try and move/rename /atmosphere/contents to /atmosphere/contents.bk to see if sys-modules are quacking you up?

please post the contents of your /bootloader/hekate_ipl.ini file.

if you are using payload=…/fusee.bin, did you make sure to pull down the latest one while you we’re pulling down Atmopshere?

rcm injector

i dont have a contents folder.
i now created one - nothing.
renamed it to contents.bk - nothing.

hekate_ipl:

[config] autoboot=0 autoboot_list=0 bootwait=0 autohosoff=0 autonogc=1 updater2p=1 backlight=100 [CFW - sysMMC] fss0=atmosphere/package3 kip1patch=nosigchk atmosphere=1 emummc_force_disable=1 icon=bootloader/res/icon_payload.bmp [CFW - emuMMC] fss0=atmosphere/package3 kip1patch=nosigchk emummcforce=1 atmosphere=1 icon=bootloader/res/icon_payload.bmp [Stock - sysMMC] fss0=atmosphere/package3 emummc_force_disable=1 stock=1 icon=bootloader/res/icon_switch.bmp

I also tried it with the newest fusee.bin, yes.

no worries. If you don’t have one it can’t bite you. Having an empty one is fine too. It just means you don’t have potentially blocking sys-modules installed. Good deal.

This all looks good.

Please boot into Hekate and select emuMMC tile on the far right and post a screenshot of that page. Here’s mine:

cool. Since you have a copy of the latest fusee.bin on hand, we can also try this:

copy the latest fusee.bin to the /bootloader/payloads folder.

Add the following to the very end of your /bootloader/hekate_ipl.ini file

[CFW - Temp]
payload=/bootloader/payloads/fusee.bin
kip1patch=nosigchk
emummcforce=1
atmosphere=1
icon=bootloader/res/icon_payload.bmp

Then reboot into Hekate, chose Launch and select the list item called “CFW - Temp” and see if that gets you booted up properly.

Nope, it doesnt work :(
It still gets stuck on the logo screen.
Damn. Was worth a shot.

emuMMC looks similar to mine. it appears to be pointed properly.

Imguess that leaves us little choice.

You probably want to make another backup of your current emunand for safe keeping and the attempt to either

a) do a fresh start from a formatted SDCard and make a new Emunand by copying your current Sysnand.
b) explore what you have when you say you have backups (how old is it, how much content on it, and do you have the matching /emummc folder)

*If you just want your game saves back we can do that with that new backup we’re going to create and a fresh emunand copied from Sysnand. You would have to reinstall games from scratch.
