First-party Xbox games to cost $70 starting 2023

As reported by IGN, Xbox plans to hike the prices of its first-party titles in the new year. Titles like Forza Motorsport, Redfall and Starfield will cost $69.99 USD at launch in 2023. While there might be differences in regional pricing, Xbox didn't provide the details for other countries.

"This price reflects the content, scale, and technical complexity of these titles," a Microsoft spokesperson told IGN. "As with all games developed by our teams at Xbox, they will also be available with Game Pass the same day they launch.”

In October, Phil Spencer hinted at such a price hike and we now have a confirmation; at least when it comes to first party Xbox games. For the time being, the pricing for Xbox's other offerings such as Game Pass has remained unchanged and will be the case until the end of the year.

First party games are lackluster anyway especially on the xbox 🙄

Halo is dead

Gears of War also dead

Forza isn't my thing

What else does the xbox even have that's first party....

Starfield or whatever its called made by bethesda will be a bug riddled corpse on release.

There's nothing that interests me even though I'm a xbox user

Yes monetizing the hell out of your games and increasing the price while not improving the quality is surely the way to make sure people don't pirate them.

as bad as first party sony titles have been, I think Xbox are still the worst of the big three. Forza and Flight Simulator are alright, but pretty much everything else is average at best. but Sony's exclusives launch prices are also too high for my tastes
post-Iwata Nintendo is also shit, in that they no longer care about product quality and instead just shove half-ass products in our face without any regard for what makes a game great.

then again, that's what happens when you put two businessmen in charge instead of dedicated developers, and one of those businessmen used to be a big wig at EA of all places.

min wage prices aren't increasing across the nation and people are finding themselves hard pressed to find a job with a living wage...and they have the gall to raise prices. what a joke.
I know, it's almost like these games are made by robots or something

If you can afford a $300-$600 system, you can afford a $70 game. Stop being entitled cheap asses.
yeah you tell 'em, gbatemp user nero99! you defend that big corporation! they might just give you a nice little reacharound for your defense of them real soon! it'll be immaculate, with the right lotion texture and the little twist that you just need to shoot out strings harder than a hydro cutter.
