Hacking NS-atmosphere dongle on boot.dat

So... I use this ns-atmosphere payload injector that I bought second hand with the switch, and it's been forever in SXOS mode, as in, it only reads boot.dat. So what do I've been doing these last few years since migrating to atmos? Crazy but fast, changing the hekate.bin into a boot.dat with the converter you'd find online...
Except now the boot.dat.creator link isn't working.
So how do I now update the dongle? Do I simply write the hekate.bin with the ns-atmosphere programmer? Because I don't know why in the first place is only reading boot.dat, never quite understood how the dongle actually works.

.bin is the default payload format for NS Atmosphere Dongle.

If you can't reprogram the injector you can replace boot.dat with the boot.dat file for the SX Gear. That will let you chain load payload.bin. Not allowed to link it here but you can probably find it on archive.org or The Wayback Machine.

That is misleading info, you don't need it in boot.dat format when it support .bin format.

I don’t think there’s any Ninty IP in the SXGear file. It’s just a benign payload that avoids booting SXOS.

Thanks for the support, I've been reading this last hour the existing thread about it, but nevertheless I was lost about why mine was like an sx gear. I have successfully updated to a bin but still I'm going to archive these you gave me, thanks for the support

The hekate payload doesn't need to be updated. The converted boot.dat file that you had was enough...
