HWFLY OLED install. I can't get the DAT0 connector to connect.

Don't choose the tiniest or finest ones. At least in my case, the smallest I have is not very good or I don't have the skills to use it.
Remember that te smaller the tip the less surface there is to transfer heat. And that was a problem to me! When I thought I could be more accurate with a pencil shape tip, I end up not being able to melt solder properly because there wasn't enough heat on the tip to make it melt. At least it was the feeling I had while using these tips!
I have no problems when using them.

My struggle is that I wanted to have a little drop of solder on the very end of the tip and the solder simply didn't stick there. There was no surface for that nor heat, that's my assumprion!
You would only do this if you are going to use a slightly thicker tip, that is from my experience.

I wouldn't be confortable without a reading there.
OL means Open Loop or something like that! Does it checks for continuity? I mean, from the point on the console board to the point on the chip? I mean, to make sure the wire is not broken.
There's continuity from the board to the chip. So the wires are good. Just no reading. Can i use another point? Or check somewhere to see why point b isn't giving out anything? Thanks!

I'm not sure about this point B. If it is GND, I assume you can measure anywhere else on another GND point. I followed Sthetix videos and I was able to match his readings.

That's normal. Some multimeters won't push enough voltage in diode mode so it won't register. Iirc it's about 2-3V. Also point B is a big pad on the motherboard so it's hard to miss it.

Readings all look good, but the led pattern is a bit strange. Did it pass the initial training? It shouldn't flash purple if it's not trained before. Try to reset the chip and update the firmware

Can you link me the video?
What does it mean when point b doesn't have any value?

Thanks!

I think you can follow this one, but I remember there are other videos without the firmware part.

Thanks! Hm i think i forgot to wire the ground on the chip to the board? But the v5 hwfly doesnt seem like it needs to, due to the ribbon. Probably pulling gnd from the top of 3v3. But would that change b point value when connected?

tbh, I don't know. Try to follow all the steps and check again. I'm not sure if a forgotten conenction can change those values or not!

Any links to the flash files?

Funny how people are using bad soldering irons to do microsoldering and have no idea why they are struggling.

Get better irons like t115 or t245. Pricey but it allows heat to transfer to even the smallest tip.

I don't think that is my case. I use an Ersa brand soldering station. Not the best but far from being the worst.

Its not about the brand. Its about the technology in the tips itself that allows heat transfer.

If you can't afford t115, T12 is a good start. But i recommend T115 and T245 if you can.

The technology in the tips can't be shitty in an Ersa brand, I guess. Because the tips fit in several higher Ersa models.

On the multimeter what settings did you set to read point b? I dont think its diode mode. I borrow an untouched oled switch and read it on diode mode there no reading.

I'm not sure what you mean by an untoutched Switch Oled but I think these measurements are to be done with modded consoles! From the chip to the other end of the connection.
I just set the multimeter to Diode mode! Nothing else!
