'Monster Hunter Rise' lands on PlayStation and Xbox systems next month

After launching on PC earlier this year, Monster Hunter Rise will soon be available on more platforms. Capcom announced today that the game will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on January 20, 2023. On the same day, it will be playable via Xbox Game Pass for console, PC and cloud. A new trailer was aired for the announcement:

Monster Hunter Rise is the latest installment in the action RPG series and transports players to Kamura Village, a colorful and tranquil setting that attracts visitors with its unique culture and innovative hunting technologies. The core gameplay experience in Monster Hunter Rise stays true to the previous highly-praised Monster Hunter entries. Hunters must equip their armor and select from one of the 14 different weapon types to tackle daunting foes. As players defeat monsters and progress through the game, items carved from fallen foes can be used to craft unique weapons and armor that increases their chances of survival. Hunters can tackle these challenges solo, or with up to three other hunters in cooperative online play.

The Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 versions of Monster Hunter Rise support 4K resolution, 60 fps as well as 3D audio. Ranged and shielded weapons will also make use of DualSense adaptive triggers on PlayStation 5. Console players can also look forward to the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak expansion in Spring 2023.

Interesting they aren't making all content available from the start like they did with the PC version. Also a bit of a shame there's no 120fps support, even if it were at 1080p.

Either way, happy to see more people able to play this, and Game Pass is the perfect place for it. Think I'll stick with Steam myself though!

the game could easily run at 4k 120fps on the series s, it can run at 1080p 60fps on the steam deck easily, without lowering the settings
so this is definitely a missed opportunity

Interesting.
I was sure Capcom wouldn't do it, so people wouldn't get fed up with the series before MHW2 releases.

I wonder when they plan to release MH6 then. Leak said 2023, which no doubt got pushed.

3rd party games being exclusive to x platform in the first place is dumb. Unless, the game is getting funded by a first party.

The Vita would be less dead, if the 3DS MH games were on it too.

MH6 when? I don't need rise, got bored after 300hours and returned to 4u which I still play in 2022

I kinda feel the hype for this version of MH is dead honestly
It was dead since release of Vanilla. Capcom couldn't make a replayable game as 4U/GU.

Did you play Sunbreak? The weaponskills got extra care and the TUs keep adding a lot to do. It's definitely not "dead", lol. GU is pretty quiet when it comes to online multiplayer, so using "dead" to throw shade doesn't quite work here.

i've seen some alternative to GQ they've added in latest update but It's still not enough without relics and True apexes. Played sunbreak, yeah. I wasn't saying anything about MP
