Download the archive.org link I posted there. It is Tinfoil version 15.0 R1 but once you install it and run it the self installed version will auto update. Cool stuff. :-)
Ok, I'm not sure where I'm going wrong.
I have just installed the system from scratch again and going to unzip Tinfoil again into SD card root. I just checked that I have no Tinfoil after fresh install. I'll see what do I get after I unzip the zip file to the card root but not installing anything from `Album`. Because I'm not sure I understood how you told me to install Tinfoil other than using `Album`

Edited;

Ok, so after unzipping, I can see Tinfoil in `Album`. Can I install it from here?

I thought V4 was just the generation of the modchip. I bought one of these for my V2 Mariko and it works great.

View attachment 341090

I wish they would have used different nomenclature….like version A, version B, version B.2, etc

Less confusing!
V3 is also working with OLED model but there is one minor design flaw (not on purpose because Nin has change a little bit design, so when you install v3 into an OLED, it will slowly kill the CPU of OLED model. The V4 and new bootloader of the V4 are released to solve that problem.

Yeah, I remember Mena publishing that doc about the voltage issues.

Album starts hbmenu in applet mode. Applet mode can only access limited memory so the version of Tinfoil that works with that is limited as well.

To get the most out of hbmenu it is best to start it in title override mode. You can enter title override mode by holding the (R)ight shoulder button down while clicking on a game title. A game is given access to more memory so starting hbmenu in this way tricks the Switch into treating it like a real game and giving it more resources to play with, more powerful!

Problem: in order to use title over ride mode you need at least one game title so until you install your first game you have no title over ride.

Solution: use a different installer that doesn’t require as much resources, such as Tinwoo, to install a small game, such as Othello.nsp

Tadah! Now you have a game title on your main page and can perform the title override sequence (hold down R and keep holding down while starting Othello…or any other game). In title override mode the tinfoil installer will work perfectly.

Download the tinfoil 15.0 R1 from here:

Oh ok, I got it.
Could you please check if you also see Ver. 13 in Home page when you press '+' while Tinfoil is highlighted? Just to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong, please? Maybe it's just a text/label bug somewhere in the code?

OMG 😱

It shows 13.0 on mine too.

I never check like that though. I catch it during boot up…

You can see 15.0 at the top and R10 at the bottom right so mine is on 15.10.

When I checked with a Online Web:

That's all the information we could know through the serial number.

No necessary to do that. I am using emuNAND and sysNAND on the same card (256gb) and everthing seems good.
I see. What I wanted to know was do the numbers in the picture look like the numbers that I said they were?:shy:

So, back there when you asked me what version I was using and I said 13.0, that was a mistake. It was the latet version already but I went check there!
That's probably only a text/label bug in this case.

Now, my next step is to see how can I move game data from one SD card to another!

Game save data can be backed up using NXNandManager and JKSV.

I am sorry if this was asked before and apologies for the nub question...

I finally found the dongle to finally revive my old switch (unpatched erista) that sat for a year turned off. It is on sxox pro emunand 10.0.4 (exwife had all my things in storage while I was deployed and things went missing). I know that sxos is dead and I want to make it straight up atmosphere to beable to run the current games. Can someone direct me to a good guide on how i can safely do this?

I went to the SDCard setup site and an old post here for the SXOS to Atmosphere guide posted by @wurstpistole and it directed me to a tutorial that seemed to a fresh install/setup. I poked around and I think I found a tutorial that might work but I am very much scared to do this. If it doesn't would it just benefit me to just restore the switch back to eom with my original backup and start fresh?

Thank you for any and all help!

I'm trying to use nut on my new SD card but I can't see the shared folder in my console. I can't find instructions on how to setup nut and I don't remember if I did anything in Tinfoil to make the shared folder visible with my old SD card?

Your old config will be under /switch/tinfoil/locations.conf and /switch/tinfoil/options.json. You can just copy those files over and you will be configured the same way.

There are multiple ways to connect to nut. Which way are you looking to connect?

I start nut like:
python3 nut_gui.py --server --host=192.168.1.112 --port=9000

Then, I'm going to "File Navigator" and under "usbfs:/" I was expecting to see my files that are inside the laptop shared folder!

So I actually made a post but I should've asked here. Anyways if I was going to do shiny spawns of legendary locked pokemon from violet and scarlet so that other people that joined my union world can catch them, how would I do that? This is all speculation and me understanding more about this. I know it's a garuanteed ban sooner or later. Would you go through sysnand to connect? Emmunand doesn't allow connection to nintendo servers and stock doesn't allow custom firmware. I know it might sound stupid because reading it, I sound like I'm just answering my own question. I just would like some clarification and confirmation.

Hi. Few months ago I bought a Pro Controller that seemed to be the official one after checking some YouTube videos. Today I've been trying to update it but I get stuck at the begging and when I try to update it wired, I get the message "Unable to update". Is that a fake controller that looks like the official one and I got scammed? Thanks in advance.

Would need more details such as pics of the controller, pics/description of where you bought it, price anything that might give people an inkling of what you’re looking at.

USBfs would require a USB cable.

If you want to see a Windows file share you would use SMB (and you won’t need nut to see the files in your file share) but I have to warn you it’s going to be hella slow!

The nut command you’re running would serve up the files in the local directory to Tinfoil using the actual nut option in Tinfoil.

So bottom line: you’ve picked 3 things that don’t work directly together so let’s see if we can narrow down your choices a bit.

Do you want:
  1. Fastest possible install from your PC (USB)
  2. Convenient, low setup server side, access over wireless from anywhere but slow (SMB)
  3. Native Tinfoil access, similar to your own shop, that requires a server running on your PC (Nut)

What DNS should I use to avoid getting banned, also tips on how not to get banned while using homebrew?

Here’s a starter kit for exosphere and dns:mitm which is built in to Atmosphere and what I use:

https://rentry.org/ExosphereDNSMITM

Full disclosure, some folks use Incognito_RCM and 90DNS for similar effect via slightly different means.
