Hi everyone!
I have two Nintendo Switch, a modified V1 and a newly bought OLED. Before I modified the V1, I had original games and saves on this console. When I modified it, these saves were obviously copied to the emuNAND, but I accidentally deleted them from the sysNAND. Since the saves have been on emuNAND, I haven't used them anymore, so they should have remained intact.
This is my question: is there any way to transfer these saves from emuNAND to the new unmodified OLED so that I continue play the games legally? Would the option to transfer saves via "console settings" work and connect locally? Or would it access Nintendo servers? In the second case, would the V1 risk being banned? And in the first one?
And if I managed to make the transfer and then I went online with these saves from the new OLED, would I risk the ban? Or is there some other method? I own Nintendo Switch Online, but I guess using the save cloud would expose me to the ban.
Sorry for the many questions but I would like to fully understand the situation in order to be on the safe side. Also because I often use the V1 in original firmware online, so it cannot be banned.
Thank you very much and have a nice day!

I was wondwring the same. The only offline way I know to transfer a save if only with ACNH Nintendo's island transfer tool and It's only this specific game save (and you can only do this ONCE with the same save), but i'ts something. Hoping the scene can copy this method to other games using this official tool as a disguise.

Super late on this, but iirc it also depends on the game you're playing. There's no safe way to transfer it to the unmodified OLED, however you could

- on your emuNAND, launch JKSV or save manager & save them to the SD card
- then, launch your modified V1 in sysMMC mode with CFW enabled, use JKSV to import the save
- then launch modified V1 (without CFW enabled if you want to be safe) and transfer it through to your new OLED switch the official way

Hey OP, did you ever figure out if this was safe?

I’m planning to transfer my PS4 Persona 5 Royal save to a modded v1 Switch and then transfer from there to my regular unmodded OLED.

I am modding this v1 ONLY to get this save across to my OLED! So I’d only be loading the bare minimum homebrew-wise. But then I got worried about a ‘foreign’ save on my OLED throwing up a flag and getting my OLED banned. Or the v1, for that matter.

What are your thoughts - do you know if this is safe?

Yo bro, what's the news?

I want to try to export my PS4 P5R to my OLED, directly from sysnand to ofw

Are you successful on doing it?

Hey, sorry it took me so long to reply. So, the news is good so far! But I ended up doing it a bit of a different way.

This is gonna sound crazy but when I was browsing ebay for the game itself I came across a listing for P5R save editing on the Switch. I messaged him and asked if, instead of the 100% save file he was selling, if I had my own file to give him (from PS4) could he upload that for me instead? He said no problem he'd give it a shot.

I was super nervous because for the process to work he needs your Nintendo account password (he has a modded Switch that he uses to load the save, then he uploads it to your NSO cloud). But I changed passwords and even with my password you're protected by email from any other changes. And he had 100% positive feedback across like 400+ reviews...so I went for it.

Within 10 minutes I was pulling down the save and it worked like a charm! Someone was selling a cheap Lite in my area so I used the save on that and am just waiting now, then I'll resell the Lite later once enough time has passed. Anyway, been about six weeks and no issues!

So, I was successful in using a 'foreign' save on an unmodded Switch, so far. But I can't speak to making the transfer from sysnand to ofw myself. However this ebay guy does it he must have a good process because obviously his Switch hasn't been banned after all this time doing it for others.

So that was a lot of info but I share it in hopes it's helpful to you in making your decision!

Is this safe to do? I have a modded V1 switch and an unmodded OLED and wanting to do this for Pokemon Sword and a few other games

So, within ACNH you can take an island that was modified on a CFW switch and transfer that island to an OLED without risk of getting banned?

You should be able to do that BUT you are still at your own risk as your island save was modified using unofficial ways and MAYBE (or maybe not) Nintendo can detect this and ban your switch... You should be okay if you didn't add hacked objects, impossible maps and stuff like that but you never know!

When I tried a similar thing for pokemon violet - moved save from emunand to sys and with tegra and hacdiskmount the save worked fine on the unpatched switch but when I tried to transfer it to a patched switch the save transfer failed part way through locking both consoles in a loop of trying to find each other and failing. Any ideas where I went wrong?

Something like this happened to me today. The culprit was also a Pokémon Violet save that I might have transferred using hacdiskmount back in November. I had a few thoughts while trying to save my Pokémon progress, which I would like to share. Hopefully, a capable dev gets to read this.

What I'd like to know is whether at least a hacked Switch can be pulled out of the save transfer loop. The non-invasive system reset option (user information not being deleted) after rebooting while holding Vol+ and Vol- is greyed out, maybe due to the unfinished save transfer. In case the Switch OS just checks for a flag that says "Hey, you still got a save transfer to deal with" and acts accordingly, there's hope that a payload could fix that on a hacked unit.

In a next step one could try to remove the save and create a new one to send to the still looping receiving Switch instead. However, whether or not reinitiating a transfer with a different (non-corrupted) save afterwards succeeds is debatable as described below.

A full reset on the sending Switch definitely won't end the loop on the receiving Switch, because if you try to send a newly created save after the full reset, the receiving Switch will state that you are not using the same two consoles you started the transfer with. I tried sending a newly created save from the emuMMC of my hacked Switch (the loop occurred on the sysMMC) as well, which didn't work either. That being said, even if one succeeds to get the sending Switch out of the transfer loop, the receiving one could possibly be unrecoverable without hacks, or in the case of the OLED model hardware modifications.

I'm not very familiar with the internals of the Switch, so if anyone knows more about the process that leads to the save transfer loop, I'd like to learn more about it.

By the way, I kissed my Pokémon saves with various legitimate shiny Pokémon goodbye already (including Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and Mewtwo from Let's Go Eevee, for which I spent hours of soft resetting to get). The rest of my saves luckily was stored in the cloud.

I was able to transfer my TOTK save from unmodded OLED, to moddedV1 and back using cloud save! So far no ban.

I did this because I happen to update my TOTK to 1.2.0 without weapon glitch and i needed it. So while the save is in my modded v1, I downgraded the save to 1.0 (search for my guide on how I did it) in emunand and saved it back to clean sysnand and synced it back to the cloud.

So I can say that TOTK save is safe so far from my experience but ymmv?. My guide is in github search for TOTKDowngrade-1.2.0-Save-version and look for the Optional part of the guide on how I did it. Do it at your own risk. My Modded switch has no pirated software or mods. I bought that V1 switch for this exact purpose only.

Dont mean to necro this but is there an updated method for this?
I own a Atmosphere V1 Switch and planning to get an OLED but I have a lot of progress on my games, would like to be able to transfer them over since I have the actual games, I am not a 100% pirate.

Is there a brew for this now? or clear steps.
