Nintendo apologizes for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet performance problems, new patch released

sadsadasdas.png

When the review embargo for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet lifted, one of the biggest problems both critics and players had with the games was the performance issues. A little under two weeks have passed since then, and it looks like Game Freak is getting around to fixing some of them. A version 1.1.0 patch of the game has been released for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, bringing the first season of ranked battles to the games, as well as patching out select bugs. Included in the patch notes was also an apology from Nintendo, who stated that they are currently working on improvements to the games, in regard to performance problems.

We are aware that players may encounter issues that affect the games' performance. Our goal is always to give players a positive experience with our games, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We take the feedback from players seriously and are working on improvements to the games.

They are, or seems to be. Otherwise it wouldn't have shipped the way it did. Every single first party game developed in house (at Nintendo specifically, IED and other dev branches)
generally is leagues better in quality and polish. While with Pokemon, it has been consistently less polished, every time.
Nintendo developing in house on a platform they know inside and out vs a third party, contracted development team. Which one do you think Ninty is more lenient towards? :rofl2:

I honestly hope that they are mad at both gamefreak and the pokemon company and put more oversight on them. (primarily in the sense of forcing pokemon company to delay, and or add more staff)
But I doubt it. Pokemon seems to get special treatment.
Bruh, you looked at Nintendo games lately? 🤨

They're subpar quality.

How about reporting the patchnote too, or was the controversy more attracting?

NVM it's just various bug were fixed and no details.

take Bayonetta 3,(platinum) Take new pokemon snap (BANDAI NAMCO) Kirby forgotten land(HAL), Mario sports whatever (Camelot)
yoshi's crafted world (Good-Feel)

All of these are third party developers. They're their own company. All of them at least met the bar of having the same level of polish as Nintendo's in house stuff, or really damn close. Pokemon is the outlier in this list, specifically when it comes with mainline games, or anything gamefreak produces. As it's so much lower than the standard.

It feels that either Nintendo is carving out a special exception for Pokemon, or, just straight up off hands with it.
And considering that Nintendo is extremely anal about polish on first party IPs. I doubt they'd just carve an exception for Pokemon. More so just assumed that Pokemon company and gamefreak don't need their oversight.

That's my take on it.

So what was patched out then? Nothing to due with increasing performance i suppose?
Probably just stuff like anything to do with item dupe glitches and the like, you know the "importaint stuff" that will affect the game play, because dropping to 5 or so fps doesn't.

Lower than Mario Strikers: Battle League? 🤣
Yeah, sadly, but yeah. However the same studio also produced Luigi's Mansion 3, which is, do I even need to explain how absurdly polished that game is? (point being, Next Level games usually sticks the landing. Doesn't mean battle League isn't shit though. They swing, and miss rarely. Metriod federation Force will attest to that)
Edit:
As in it attests to how few mistakes they make (since that's the only major sticking point outside of Battle League)

This is impossible to happen if bug testers exist, and gameplay testers.
I dont know why and how this even exists.... Its bizarre.

Ah, they're actually working on improvements to the game? Now I wanna see if they can make something out of the mediocrity that this software is right now.

good that they have acknowledged it - I'll play in maybe 6 months time when there's been some more updates, I'm not in a rush.
still, it shouldn't have happened in the first place...

thanx m8, wot wud we do wivout U here helpin us wiv r spelings

This I still haven't played DBZ Kakarot yet because to this very day.... they are still releasing "DLC" until they released the last one I will play it.

Scarlet more than likely will receive some post game DLC so I can wait.

plays fine in ryujinx. emulation doing what nintenshithardware can't!
Not surprising. Switch is hardware from 2017.

At this point even Android high-end phones are probably better than a Switch.

The gameplay of DBZ Kakarot really bored the heck out of me, but I loved the remade DBZ anime songs for it.

Another reason is because I already played DBZ like a million times lol. It's actually the first DBZ game I never played just seems like a Legacy of Goku 1+2 with buu's fury on steroids lol.

They should focus on Super and base games off that. We been playing buu saga for the past 20+ years and I'm not too familiar with super. I only skimmed the series (Black Goku Arc was my favorite) didn't care for the tournament of power too much

The brolly movie and golden freiza movie was good too (although rushed) but good.

Kakarot would have been GREAT if they included the full DBZ experience like having all the movie characters and etc...

They should apologize for Pokemon in general. It along with other 90's and post 90's cartoons have inspired entire generations of kids to enjoy shows with shallow characters and no depth of plot. In a way, it's really quite an amazing achievement, though on the other hand movies and everything have gone down hill since, and franchises I used to enjoy have been ruined because of it. Pokemon must die!

You just sound like a bitter old coot... I bet you have butterscotch candy in your jacket pocket...

Sure, produce shit and to counter the bad performance overclock the hardware so the switch drains faster and it will most likely still run like crap.
Ever overclocked your switch? If you have, you wouldn't be saying this. Not to excuse the mess, but I ran an overclocked system and the drain wasn't that bad.
