Wasn't the service already shutdown a couple or so years ago?

they shut down being able to upload new levels a while back, but you were still able to play the uploaded levels until yesterday

i've actually been makin some headway on my yt channel lately. i think rather than people saying "its impossible to succeed on yt, dont even try", people should be saying "you need to actually have talent" which apparently i do??

i uploaded a class project i wasn't super-proud of, but it got like 2k views and i had like 150 people sub to me after. it's definitely inspired me to make more stuff as it's something i just find enjoyable anyway
yup, i'm a zoomer, and yup, i wanna play the new fortnite season, and yup, i want the peter griffin skin. it be what it be

resurrected a portable dvd player today. it had a broken screen, which was replaced. interestingly, it also has usb and sd slots, as well as a port labeled av in/out. maybe i'll be able to do something cool with it.

You should record the process of restoration in any shape of post (thread/blog entry/status). I love seeing people fixing stuff, and I'm not the only one who thinks that recording process might help someone in the future.

really all i've done is swap the front half with the front half of another of the same model, but if i end up doing anything further with it i'll certainly try to document the process
just spent the last 2 hours playing half life on my ps2 while my cat sat next to me. safe to say, i don't think life gets much better than that.

Nintendo's pulling the plug on Wii U and 3DS stuff way too quickly imo. I get that it's aging hardware and all, but hey, the PS3 and X360 at least still have online play, and they're even older!

is there a SINGLE company out there that actually makes decent 3.5mm to usb-c adapters? i've tried many, and they all go to shit within like 2 months. google, apple (currently have theirs), and some other third parties.... they just all suck for some reason.

this post was inspired by me lightly tapping my apple adapter by mistake and it immediately disconnecting

i wonder if mario kart tour no longer getting updates is at least partly because of martinet stepping down. to my knowledge he did record some unique lines just for that game

In other words, Tour's basically dead now...it sucks if you liked it, but with the monthly subscription plus the Pipe loot boxes, and the 'premium currency', all being a thing, I'm not sad to see it go, the avaricious scum.

They got rid of all that like a year ago lol

the game will keep running for now at least, just re-running past tours. the monthly sub and premium currency still exist, but the gacha aspect has been gone for awhile, yeah.
I don't understand why some people feel the need to comment on damn-near everything but only say negative stuff that's not particularly helpful. Especially when someone asks a question and someone says "Ugh, just Google it."
i'm finally figuring out how to use blender for some basic stuff, not gonna lie, it's really fun to mess with once you get the hang of some things. i modeled (read: i stuck some spheres and cylinders together) a trashcan, and the results aren't too bad

Still figuring out PCB design. Have to stick to certain guidelines by the manufacturer.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
