    Hacking 3.1E to ...WHERE ?

Actually, i don't have a real concern on playing them off of an SD. Sounds nice, but i can live without it, at least for now. But, backups, that's another thing. I mean, do i use a Backup Loader ? Do i burn them straight to DVDs ? Do i have to patch them before burning them ? I mean, last...

    Hacking 3.1E to ...WHERE ?

So i guess everyone suggests updating my system. I have two questions though: 1. In the guide it says to DOWNgrade to 3.2. I am on 3.1, so what happens now ? Do i have to upgrade to 3.2 first and then follow the guide ? And if yes, how do i make the update now ? 2. Is there a way to backup...

    Hacking 3.1E to ...WHERE ?

ok. upgrade to 4.0. i agree with you without knowing why. would you care to elaborate on the why part ? i mean, why should we upgrade to 4.0 ? what do we gain, and more importantly what do we lose ? especially in my case where i still have a firmware prior to 3.2 ? and does this upgrade...

    Hacking 3.1E to ...WHERE ?

Hello! I've been off the scene and gbatemp for quite a while (over a year). So haven't been updated for quite a long time. I'm currently using a 3.1E firmware in my WiiKey'd system. Was avoiding updating to 3.2E back then, so stayed with 3.1E. Have used the original Twilight Hack back then...

    Gaming 50Hz / 60Hz Mode on Wii

I've thought about a component cable. The only problem is that i have my dvd player using component. So i guess i'd either have to use and HDMI for my dvd and a component for my wii or switch cable all the time ! I think the component is the solution too. But i 'd have to buy the original from...

    Gaming 50Hz / 60Hz Mode on Wii

Hello! I'm using some NTSC games in my PAL Wii. Some of them need be set to 60Hz mode. What i do is switch my TV Type in Nintendo Wii settings to 60Hz (i use 50Hz normally). When i do that although it works my LCD Tv screen is getting very blurry, creates a kind of ghost images all around, and...

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Hope you've had a good morning.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

I think that's why I focus on just enjoying single player experiences that aren't too competitive
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
    How are you doing?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
There's also this thing where I'm hyperfocused at night and cannot get to sleep.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Maximumbeans, I'm doing alright, thanks.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.

@Maximumbeans, I had a friend who had a glass chess set for their birthday.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It was like all clear and fancy. Tbf I'm not too experienced with chess, but would like to learn someday.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
    That sounds really cool

I know the basics but no strategy at all
