I've sorted it out myself. So the SysNAND can NOT be higher than 9.2 but the Gateway system allows an EmuNAND to run at 9.4, so it was safe to upgrade from the "system settings" menu (obviously making sure I was in Emu and not Sys). Quick question, is it possible to update my EmuNAND to 9.2 (from 4.5)? I understand the current version being served by Nintendo is 9.3+. I'm running a 3DS XL with sysnand 4.5, Gateway. I understand that an EmuNAND above a certain number is required to play certain games (Smash Brothers)...- juzza
