Hacking WII U USB & vWII USB in parallel?

I’m not sure that’s true that you can only have 1 HDD plugged in at a time. There’s a few people who have mentioned they have a vWii drive plugged in the back and a Wii U drive plugged in the front especially if you use UStealth to hide the vWii drive. I have the same issue as gaga3000 though...

Hacking Unable to detect Wii USB drive while Wii U USB drive connected

Ha ha I tried that too. It doesn’t explain why it works when I remove the Wii U drive. Surely it just wouldn’t work at all? From the Wii U point of view I’ve tried all three USB ports that aren’t Port 0 and always the same result

Hacking Unable to detect Wii USB drive while Wii U USB drive connected

To be specific I ran it from HBC on vWii

Hacking Unable to detect Wii USB drive while Wii U USB drive connected

Yeah I’ve tried both. USBToggle is based on Ustealth but allows you to run it directly on the Wii

Hacking Unable to detect Wii USB drive while Wii U USB drive connected

Possibly but not sure how to test that. I use USBToggle from the HBC to hide the drive and that is able to detect both drives. It says the Wii U drive is not valid and skips it and lets me hide the Wii drive fine

Hacking Unable to detect Wii USB drive while Wii U USB drive connected

I’ve tried powering them both from the Wii U, one from USB outlet and both from USB outlet. I’ve also got the same problem from USB thumb drives which shouldn’t have any power issues as they don’t need anywhere near as much power as a spinning hard drive

Hacking Unable to detect Wii USB drive while Wii U USB drive connected

I don’t have a powered drive but I did try connecting the power part of the Y-cables to USB wall outlets which have more than enough power alone to operate the drives even when the Wii U is off.

Hacking Unable to detect Wii USB drive while Wii U USB drive connected

Sadly not. The drive is formatted with MBR already. If it’s the only drive plugged in, I can load Wii games from it without an issue.

Hacking Unable to detect Wii USB drive while Wii U USB drive connected

I've been tearing my hair out trying to get this working with as many combinations I can think of - hoping it's something simple someone can help me with! I followed this guide to hack vWii and get USB Loader GX working. I have 2 USB drives - they are both WD USB 3.0 drives. They both have...

    Hacking Devolution Speculation thread

As tueidj already stated that Devolution will keep the drive alive, having a drive that does or does not spin down doesn't really matter. A watchdog was implemented in most cIOS to counter this problem, and I have had no issues with my drive with those.

    Hacking Devolution Speculation thread

I thought this might be the case. I didn't want to get too far into Eternal Darkness only to have to start over. Waiting for Devolution for audio streaming support. Last update was that you were checking the FAT code to ensure no drives were screwed. Is this still the case?

    Hacking Devolution Speculation thread

Will Devolution support, or have some way to convert, save files created by NMM in DIOS-MIOS? Or will we have to start games from the start?

    Hacking Devolution

Excellent work tueidj! I expect this has come as a complete surprise to many although you have demonstrated your outstanding knowledge of the Wii many times over. Maybe next time you could provide some kind of hint? :P

Hacking Wii backup Manager for Windows

Is there a way to easily remove unwanted partitions from games already on a USB drive? Currently the only way I've found is to move the game off the USB drive, then re-add it with "Keep game partition only" enabled. Is there a quicker way?

Hacking Wii backup Manager for Windows

This was the best WBFS file manager for Windows by far. Simple, easy to use interface, actively developed, no dependencies (.NET, Java etc), and portable so you could stick it on your Wii hard drive and take it around with you. Then fig2k4 stopped development. After several months it looked...
