    Updated a 4.1U, previously soft-modded (Aug 2009). I stayed at 4.1U. Didn't have any problems with the guide or the downloader; everything worked as it should.

    Just ignore it - one extra click won't hurt you. Windows doesn't recognize partitions that it isn't familiar with, so it'll always ask you to format them - possibly the same with Linux partitions too? (I'm not sure on that one.)

    No problem. I'm using a 250 gb one with a 175 gb WBFS partition and a 75 gb FAT partition. I haven't had any problems with it yet.

    salamai, I've found that tapping A once the boot screen shows up auto-launches it into Sakura without the lock-up. If you hold A you get the firmware selection screen anyway. A few seconds doesn't mean too much to me - better than spending $25 for a new card.

    Any of the WD My Passport line works well. They come in 250, 320, and 500 gb flavors. Edit - They're relatively cheap, too.

    The idea here would be that you actually read the results, not just beg for answers. iDeaS and No$GBA are probably the best ones available. Both have easily findable forums with support lists. You could also try reading around gbatemp for answers for specific games. I would advise the sticky...

    Yep. Your games, files, etc. will be fine with f_core.dat there. It doesn't matter what files are in the root next to it.

    Doesn't work with M3i zero, although since it's just an M3 DS Real for DSi, I wasn't surprised. Edit - Tried it with both Touchpad and Sakura. Neither gets any further than the white screens.

    Of course. A Drivekey will provide you with the ability to run pretty much any burned DVD, even if all of your homebrew / softmod stuff is destroyed by an update.
