    I dont think the demo got the update files, not sure but to be safe just use the full game. Imho, updating via rom is easier as 3dnus sometimes have problems fetching cia files.

    Maybe you have to unlink the nands? You can do so by formatting emunand if im correct. Im not so sure if its like the case when cia's gets unwrapped every after boot which is solved by unlinking the nands. With that, in my case I have no problems though playing US OR online in a jap n3ds with US...

    Hacking is it safe to update games while in emunand Gateway 3DS ??

    If you want to update the games, just have to download CIA update files and install them on your emunand using devmenu/bbm. You only need the latest versions.
