    This is a slim ps3, CECH-2501A. I did the safe mode recovery sequence, doesn't work. Goes straight to update process. I don't mind replacing the HDD, which would cancel the update process. The problem is, I don't know what previous CFW I was in, can I do trial and error, it might be 4.80.1...

    Homebrew ROMs that don't pass the Rominator validation test

    yea, don't use those. It can mess with the internal memory in the DS and brick it. You can hack it tho and change the CRC number. This will make it pass the rominator validator and everything will be gravy at that point.

    Just beat FRESHLY-PICKED ROSY TINGLE RUPEELAND. Utter disappointment. Tho, the final boss fight should be a game on its own. one of the best controls for a shoot-em-up game.
