    @rrifonas it worked after a couple of tries where files were created with length zero; I just needed to give it time to dump all the files to the SD card.

    Strikes me that eventually all drives will work, as they work on PCs, but it will take a really robust USB2 driver code for the Wii to overcome various "features" assumed OK by the PC disk manufacturers. Here's hoping!
