    Are you saying you did the update that came with NSMB? If so you now have boot2v4, which screws up downgrading. Bushing wrote an article about it over on hackmii http://hackmii.com/2009/08/timing-is-every...e-wii/#more-654 I'm afraid this doesn't really help you though.

    Did you generate your code when the announcements on BC told you to? If you didn't your account is gone forever. If you did type your code into the search box and a log in form will appear at the bottom of the page. Then just log in normally.

    Well, from what I can gather the creators of the exploit have no interest in making a backup launcher. This is mainly for homebrew, although I'm sure someone will come up with someway to launch backups. I hope that doesn't happen though, mainly because if it does I think it will be an incentive...

    Re-burn Mario and try updating again. It sounds like you've burnt it onto a dud disc. The wiikey firmware disc need only be 40mb (if its anything like the 1.9b disc) however, this guy has hosted pad out files, so if re-burning mario doesn't work, try one of these.

    I for one hope its fake. I don't want to have to open up my wii again, de-solder the quick soldering job I did on my Wiikey then re-solder it with a switch....Or wait for a PAL release either. Also, because you can play the original fine, but not the backup, wouldn't that suggest that the Wii...

    Interesting, when I first put the disc in to update, it started then said "update failed" and brought me back to the menu. I tried again and it worked though, so no harm done

    Have any PAL users tried updating from 3.0E without first updating with the small update that came out a couple of days after the 3.0 update? The one that fixes a couple of the bugs like going back to the wii menu in the opera browser.

    If you're telling the truth that would be awesome. In the official Wiikey forum over at wiinewz.com people are talking about doing this as well. According to them you just need to figure out the bootloader for the chip.

    Yeah I just updated to 2.2E but I don't have SPM yet. Can anyone else confirm whether the 2.2E firmware works or doesn't work with the SPM? Whether you can brick your Wii with it?
