Anyone have any idea where to buy them? (preferably with modchip already soldered, my soldering gun is a bit too big, and I'm way too clumsy to attach the modchip with no chance of failure)- b0lt

The hole is to equalize air pressure when the disc is spinning. Otherwise, the disc would fly to the top of the drive and shred itself.- b0lt

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
