That's just about awesome.
Annoying to no end running about without sound, but it's a very impressive menu and definitely the beginning of something good.
Nice find, I'm sure this will be overrun in peak hours with spam and excitement.
And spam.

oh, and I hope this guy doesn't just find random sprites and puts them together like that other Smash Bros. DS project.
or super smash flash.
it just looks plain tacky, and when your kirby is taller than mario, something is wrong.
hell, i'd just sprite each character myself to avoid it.

i tried it, good stuff

would like it to have all the characters in the future

almost like an SSBB copy

but the damge meter goes to fast nearly 30 seconds in the game and the other mario is already on 200

NOOBISH QUESTION:

Do all homebrew require an expansion pack in order to play or can they be ran with just a flash cart? I would love to try this!

This game shows a lot of potential.

And it looks very nice so far. :]

However, the AI needs a lot of work, as even on max difficulty, they seem to just run around aimlessly. :S

And more characters.

Cant wait for more to be added to this game.

Nope, you can run it like you would a game, from a slot 1 card (R4 etc)

unfortunately, I can somehow feel the vibes of a C&D letter coming that direction :[
This.

As long as the SSB name and Nintendo characters are in this the author can (and almost certainly will) be forced to stop development at any time. Don't get your hopes up for a finished version.

Also, let's hope Nintendo doesn't take this away. It's go so many oppurtunities to be one of the best DS homebrew games ever...

Just grabbed from DS Organize web browser and downloaded DS Compress from the DSO Homebrew Database (what a life save; I hate damn Macbooks and their zero SD slots).
Anyways, I'll stop ranting.

I love how the menu is stolen from SSBB, it looks really nice.

The levels are swaggy, the Mario sprites don't look too bad, but sound needs to be added ASAP as well as some adjustments to the fighting mechanics of the game.

I've only found one bug so far - when fighting, the CPU will sometimes just stop walking backwards/forwards and just jump up and down.

Great start, though. Wonderful homebrew!
