Is it possible to say, backup a savefile from an original nds cartridge and use it on a flashcard or use a flashcard savefile and restore it on the original nds cartridge?

You can rip saves with many tools, the two most common being rein/rain (a bit of searching may be need for the original but here is the EZ4 build: http://nds.cmamod.com/2006/11/24/ez4-can-w...ven-faster-now/ ) there is a new DLDI enabled tool called eepinator as well:

if you need to use SRAM (i.e. you do not have a dldi enabled cart) then with some restrictions for 2mbit saves (some work, some do not) cory1492's etool apps:

If you have a GBA capable card with DLDI you can use chism's sendsave porject generated an app to rip GBA as well (check the bottom of the page):

I just read that eepinator does GBA slot to ds slot as well.....

Thanks Fast6191! have you ever tried them out, like restoring a save file to an original game before? since I was thinking of if there was any way to play pokemon Diamond/Pearl when they are released on my flashcard and then "restore" the savefiel to my original game when it arrives since i'll have to import it, it will take some time until it arrives :/

I have used the EZ4 build of rein and etool without issue on a fair few games.

Before you ask you need raw saves like are found in the G6, Supercard and EZFlash.
Diamond/pearl should work with the r4/m3dss saves as they have 512kbyte saves but other r4/m3dss saves may have to be converted first.

There does exist many different sorts of save conversion tools though:

that's great to hear! I have a M3lite so I hope it will work well, cause I won't be able to wait for my original copy to arrive before beginning to play probably XD
