Iwata spoke with the Asahi Shimbun in a recent interview and spoke about a number of topics from the next DS to Zelda Wii. We’ve summed up the information below.

Next DS

- Iwata wants high resolution image output, motion sensor
- Won’t discuss any sort of time frame for release
- “DS saw its highest sales in North America in 2009?

Current DS

- Iwata interested in expanding partnership with McDonalds to other shops

Wii

- Iwata says Wii “has started to accelerate again”
- “In North American and Japan, we recorded the highest system sales for the past three years.”
- Games for the Wii Vitality Sensor will be announced in July, wants to release it as soon as possible
- Iwata also says Zelda Wii will be released before the end of 2010

FUCK, FUCK, FUCK.
I do NOT want to see a shitload of shovelware titles that have no fucking clue how to utilise throwing your DS against a wall!

Well, I'm sure no one force you to buy those shovelware of new DS as well.

I'm also sure that most developers will not make any good games whilst they're preoccupied with making motion sensing games either.

Hey, I found it quite fun to play Mario Kart using the motion sensor card.Having one built in is good.
All the games that utilize motion sensing need not be crap.

The iPod Touch games with motion are actually fun.

Kirby's Tilt N Tumble on GBC and Wario Ware Twisted on GBA were great too, shit WW Twisted is probably my favourite of the series. Only problem was not being able to see what was going on when the screen is at certain angles but that could be fixed.

a little problem with that though.
with those games the motion sensor was made for the game.
and now the games will be made for the motion sensor.

you'll see the same stuff as what happened with the touchscreen, some good games that either don't use touchscreen or use it in a good way, and a lot of games that use the touchscreen in awkward ways just so it uses the touchscreen.
you might see stuff like those bubble shooting puzzle games, but you aim with the motion sensor.
simply, games that use motion controls while they only complicate stuff.

i hope they really flesh out the vitality sensor. it could be really well used in horror/thriller games.
dang, that'd be cool! i never even really thought of using it for a horror game, i always thought it'd only be used in a health game

What "Next DS" and "Current DS"? I don't get it.
Current DS: Nintendo DS, Nintendo DS Lite, Nintendo DSi
Basically the current DS.

Next DS: DS2/etc.
Basically the next DS, with better graphics, motion sensor, etc.

I hope with high resolution graphics I hope he means at par with PSP. Would be very happy with that.

Also, since it's gonna call DS2, I presume it's going to have 2 screens again?
