Has anyone been able to get this to work on USB? I've got it to run through the disc channel (wiikey) after a system update, I have enabled 002 fix but it quickly flashes to a green screen then hangs on a black screen. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!!

I can't get it running at all... Not in USB loader GX. Not in disc channel (Wiikey)... Not in Backup Launcher Gamma... Get a black screen on all.... I have PAL wii though. Am on 4.1 using "ultimate" guide from this forum... Good thing i have a preorder waiting for PS3... Bad thing it dosen't come out until 11/9 in europe

Same here. Get black screen on PAL console, with wiikey. Also hacked with homebrew channel and the #002 fixes and all that.

i found this comment on a torrent site :

"I burned it to a disk and tried loading through Gecko 1.9, and it tells me the game requries IOS56-64-V5146.wad. It prompts if I want to install it but when I say yes it fails. I don't have time to manually find the wad file right now, but I figured I should let you all know, hopefully the info is useful."

Extracted IOS56-64-V5146.wad from the disk and installed it with wad manager. Then launched it from gecko 1.9 and its works just fine!!! Used WIIScrubber 1.31 and force Wii Disc.

Yep, needs a system update to be able to play. Says so after turning that option off in preloader. So is it safe to update from the disc or will we lose homebrew / preloader functionality? Can anyone confirm?

Ooh, of course... I've blocked updates both in preloader and with the wiikey setup disc ages ago... After disabling that it works fine... Have the good old duplicate news/weather channels now though, but they are easy to remove... Heh, feels like its been ages since i booted anything from a dvd

im running softmod with cioscorp 3.3. When I load via disc channel I get "an error has occurred." When I load via loader I got a black screen. Any ideas? I extracted 5146 from the iso and installed and still no luck

the vram is one advantage when it comes to AI but ends up being slower even with that and really AI is the only use case that needs more than 12gb vram right now

    Interesting lol

I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)

So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.

cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb

but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding

AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that

least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling

They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great

so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
