I'm usully on headphone on my DS so I dont hear it that much...But theres another problem as well
If I leave my DS "sleep" too much when I open my ds It will just..Sleep like finally but how do I play my game if my DS is already opened while my DS is sleeping..Oh S**t Guess I gotta start all over again >:(

Can this be my card or my DS? Is it fake or real? Need help here And yet it's the lastest version
Thanks

see if you can borrow a friend's acekard2i or real cartridge, and see if it does the same thing.

If I had to guess, I'd say its your DS that's causing this.

your example was hilarious

your topic heading says "ak2(i?)", do you have an ak2 or an ak2i?
did you format your msd using the panasonic formatter?
what type of msd card are you using, what size, and if it is sdhc what class?
what acekard firmware are you using?

my ak2.1 (and i own a few of them) and my rpg have no issues on my ds using a few different makes of msd cards and the akaio 1.4.1 proper firmware. perhaps there is a problem with the magnet in your ds that registers that the lid is closed.

Yes It's a AK2i And Im using this card on my NDSL (Lite)
I never used the panasnic format on my card..Is that why it's not working?
I dont know what type my card is..My dad just gave me the card...No package and all it said was microSD 1gb
and no it's not sdhc

Ill go try the panasonic format thing then

my understanding is that the ds registers sleep mode when the magnets in the lid touch, which happens when you close it. the reason i asked about the msd and using the panasonic formatter is that perhaps the speed of the msd and or the proper file allocation table specs have something to do with how the firmware handles the sleep mode interrupt. i'm speaking out of speculation, i really don't know the hardware specifics.

using the panasonic formatter will do nothing but good. i would try that first and then use the akaio firmware. see if that fixes your problem.

U know what...
While on Pictochat...Ak2 menu.. offical nintendo ds carts It sleeps perfectly but when i am playing my games on my ak2 it just goes sleep-on sleep-on sleep-on sleep-on sleep-on sleep-on etc until it finally goes to sleep then when u open it .It stills goes to sleep but that only happens on games i play on my ak2..going to sleep in the ak2 menu is perfect

maybe my SD card is causing this problem? Or is it the games? I only have 2 games in it. And all of them are japanese

on ur pc and then delete everything(on the micro sd) and put akaio on it....

Bump.... Sorry I still need help plz
Try formatting the SD card with the Panasonic formatter utility. It's linked to in the setup guide in the AKAIO wiki. Which, if you follow correctly, should get you up and running with no problem.

we had someone show up to #acekard last night with this issue. after talking to norm we found out that his acekard was a clone. it appears someone took an r4 (or equivalent) and put on a legit ak2i sticker. the akaio firmware is designed to display "unsupported device" on all clone kits. if your kit is doing this with akaio you can bet it is a clone. to verify you can open your kit and compare it to the pictures in this thread: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=158696. alternatively you could try running the official firmware and akaio 1.3 on the kit. if both run but 1.4.1 proper won't, you have a clone.

this is a serious issue and if you can verify its a clone i would appreciate it if you would contact [email protected]. let them know where you purchased it, include web sites, e-mail addresses, etc. let them get to the bottom of this and go after the cloners.

unfortunately if it is a clone your only choices will be the official firmware or the older akaio. you can use the new loaders with the older akaio, but the old firmware is lacking many "behind-the-scene" fixes, updates, optimizations, rewrites, etc.

i'm sorry to have been to one to inform you of this.

if you would be so kind as to repsond with info on where you purchased this kit. this way others can avoid purchasing a clone.

Hm...actually, someone else had problems with a card they bought at an anime convention too. By the looks of it, that retailer was just ripping everyone off with fake acekards. Unfortunately, though, I doubt there'll be an easy way to track that person down...guess it was a somewhat isolated issue, though, but it looks like quite a few people probably went and bought them.

no, they will not replace a clone. it says so in the news post that gives info on what is a clone and what isn't. if the kit works find out what it is. try the r4 firmwares.

*sigh*
Yeah, I'm right there with ya.... bought my "acekard" from Video Games New York directly (I live 3 blocks from the store) and .. it's a clone. I called them today but a girl who is "only working there for the weekend" told me to call back on monday, saying managers would be (somehow simultaneously) at a convention/out of cell phone range until then.
I asked her to talk to the owner and inform him of what's going on (on the off chance they are the dupe-ees not the dupe-ers), and said I'll be calling back tomorrow, which I will.
I'll report back after I get some progress or lack-there-of. But for now, I'd tell anyone you give a crap about not to buy this product from anyone associated with VGNY... and tell anyone you DON'T give a crap about to buy 2. heh heh heh

Try these steps I compiled maybe they can help you.

How To Troubleshoot Your Flashcart:

STEP 1: Make sure you're not using the card reader that comes with the flashcart. Buy your own. Always use the "Add/Remove Hardware Safely" function before removing the reader.
STEP 2: Check your microSD card for smudges on the contacts. Clean with a QTIP. You can add a bit of alcohol onto the QTIP, if wanted.
STEP 3: Check your Flashcart for any abrasions or smudges on the contacts. Clean with a QTIP. You can add a bit of alcohol onto the QTIP, if wanted.
STEP 4: Possibly, your Flashcart is not making perfect contact the DS. Try the "Paper Shim Trick" to close the gap and make the space tighter.
STEP 5: Copy all of your games and saves off your microsd card to your computer (BACKUP). Download the latest "Panasonic SD Formatter" and do a full format with this application. Install the latest firmware again from a different/reliable site. Then add on your games and saves to the newly formatted card.
STEP 6: If the latest firmware doesn't work sometimes downgraded firmwares can achieve working results. Try downgrading, if it doesn't resolve just go back up to the latest firmware again.
STEP 7: There are times where the official firmware for your specific cart isn't up to par with the alternatives created. Try a legit alternative firmware for your flashcart. eg, (DSTT/R4 -->YSMENU), (Acekard--->AKAIO), (M3 DS Real---> Sakura) so forth..
STEP 8: If you're using cheats maybe they are faulty. Get rid of them and get them from a reliable source.
Or just dont put them on period.
STEP 9: Possibly the "GAMES/ROMS" you have are faulty. Obtain ones from a new location...
STEP 10: Try another DS. If possible.
STEP 11: If all else fails, get a new Flashcart and/or MicroSD Card from a reputable site.

Tell us if it works or not~ Good luck. However, I think it's a clone dude.

seems like its a problem common to clones then. perhaps someone should make a sticky with info on common clone issues and ways to distinguish one without opening the card up, ie this sleep mode problem and "unsupported device" in akaio (or if the acekard team guy happens to be reading, he could modify his existing post). i foresee a lot of posts about this otherwise, seems like clones actually labelled as acekards (and not just R4 variants) are becoming fairly common now.
