Here's a very Beta version of my hacked 1.1 usb loader with only a couple simple mods:
- childproof (no game loads, no game deletes, no drive formatting)
- displays game images from the SD card
- displays background image from the SD card

Notes:
- This was just a proof-of-concept and for my son to see the images since he can't read yet.
- This will currently (probably) only work off the SD card
- Images are placed in the images directory ( currently NOT in the SD root, so it should be /apps/[whatever]/images/ with the boot.dol under /apps/[whatever]/)
- Images should be 160x225, but they will display if larger (but not recommended).
- Images must be named with the diskId IN CAPS! E.g. RMGE01.png NOT rmge01.png and NOT RMGE01.PNG
- blank.png is used to blank out the previous image before loading the next. I suppose I could have just reloaded the background, but whatever.
- noimage.png is displayed if you don't currently have an image for the game.
- background.png is the background image
- There are no other hacks to this (e.g. NTSC/PAL)
- I will probably stop using this when the next project is released.

I'll post the source later, since I don't have access to it atm and it won't compile anyways.

thanks to Waninkoko, kwiirk, etc. and helloforum (I believe I'm currently using your background) and djbubba2002 for quickly testing it out

I change how the loader mounts to sd in usb-loader.c. Also I made the menu.c unmount the sd when a game is selected to boot.
For Ocarina I didn't found the codes when I made the changes. So I made fst.c mount the sd after you chose the game and then unmount if it doesn't find codes or if you select to applied the codes to umount after the codes ha been loaded.

Kosaic's image packs:

menu.c - this should work

As a non-hacker (and someone who doesn't have a clue what language Wiibrew stuff is written in) that is very nice indeed.

Now, where can I get the images from ? And having a combinatiion of NTSC and PAL games I wll need both sets

You can just grab them off nintendo's search page. They're even already the correct size. Or I've seen a couple posts here with images.

Thanks for the share usptactical, i bet that your work will be the backbone of the upcoming USBLoader.
By the way Ocarina is the ActionReplay implementation on the Wii, a cheating utility.

Just one question - which usb loader is this based on ?
Is it the USB Loader 1.1 with Ocarina option or is it totally independant or based on the first release ?

Ocarina is a sort of cheat system (like action replay) fishears/Wiipower has done a usb loader that does this but i would love your box art display too all in one pack. http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=146629
its no major issue as i dont always use cheats only when stuck so i can just run both usb loaders from my card and choose which ever required.

Ps
i have to say if you have been out of the scene for a while than this is a brilliant comeback
your the first to release a usb loader tha displays box art. SWEET
IM lovin it.

Great work! I wont be using it (Im using the custom game channels), but I felt the need to congratulate you for this.

Its really great, I second that it will sure be used as a backbone for the next wave of usb loaders.
