Hi guy, I just bought EZ Flash V plus and I have a couple of questions

1- whats the latest kernel? the one I saw was 1.8x beta3.. if there is any later kernel (or better) can someone please guide me to it?
2- I downloaded the latest resetsp.bin, in the directions it said to copy it to the moonshell folder. so then the folder would have that file + 2 other files + the skin folder? am I right?

I would appreciate the help

Thanks,
Madridi4ever

3 current kernels:
1.86a. This is the stable kernel which I suggest you use.

You will need to update the resetsp.bin if you use this one:
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=105691

1.8x open beta 5:
http://ezflash.sosuke.com/viewtopic.php?f=...003&start=0
Should be stable enough for general use but get 1.86 working first.

Combined changelog (no idea what versions 1 and 2 are)

Open beta 5
fixed the save logic between single and multi
fixed corrupt file name or folder when write file
fixed MP3 play jump when lower screen title jump.

--------------------------
Open beta 4
improvement
1. add psram load *
2. add "DAT" folder to store the write back data
3. modified the online help, add the web version help into system**
4. add the DS rom launch boost again ***

*first load need patching time, second time and after will be zero patching time. the write back data can be used with NOR and PSRAM both.

** a "help" added in moonshl folder. help filename store as language filename. for example: help English.txt=language English.ini, no corresponding help file will load the English help in default.

***effect on second time and after load.

--------------------------
Open beta 3
--------------------------------
Update from the EZTeam rep
something must be noticed...

I just found the psram mode did not autobackup the save. it's a mistake of our programer. I'm sorry.
so. just test this version. new kernel will release soon.

--------------------------------
adjusted the 3in1 option display to 2 line.
add psram load(patch fast, no long than 2 sec)
add patch data write back to microsd

NOTE: this version adjusted the sram mapping of the 3in1 card, please backup your save in the 3in1 card's sram first before apply this beta kernel.

NOTE: don't launch 1Mbit saver game with PSRAM load mode.

--------------------------
3in1 new function
1. multi rom write
change the 3in1 mode in system setting between multi and single. GBA/NDS linker only works with single mode.
press A on any gba rom file in multi mode, the 3in1 option window will popup in lower screen.
press A on gba file again to write the file in order.
all command after gba name need double click.
rom write limited depend on the 3in1 nor flash size or 4Mbit sram saver size.

2. clean rom support
just copy the clean gba rom to microsd, it will be patched after write. no need 3in1 tools convert.

3. cht support
put the GBA cht file into CHT folder, filename same as the gba file name. cheat only works under EZ5. not standalone mode.

4. standalone mode
leave the 3in1 in DS also get the multiboot menu, but no cheat work.

the psram direct load involved with complex saver backup and load, maybe delay to next version(single mode only) or cancel.
Same thing with the resetsp.bin:

19th September preview (not yet posted on GBAtemp). Based on 1.86 but with a few tweaks to things on the GUI front (new default skin, different handling of cheats (not sure what as my chinese does not extend to technical writings). Read about it here:
http://ezflash.sosuke.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=13132
In chinese:
http://www.ezflash.cn/bbs/cgi-bin/topic.cg...rt=0&show=0
Comes with latest resetsp.bin.

thanks man, i decided to go with beta5 for now and see how it goes:)

one thing thought, i have to use a different microSD than the ones i used in the other carts correct? because apparently this uses the moonshl folder.

They cant co-exist?

Edit: I also noticed that my card is formatted to fat32, should I format it to fat16?

I use microSD I use in my EZ4 (no moonshell with the loader I use) and my EZ5 together all the time.

FAT: it depends (some of the betas only implement one or the other and some homebrews). FAT16 is sure to be compatible and the advantages of FAT32 do not appear until you get into SDHC carts.
If it works (and it works with the other devices/operating systems you need to use it with) then stick with what you have.

Thanks for the reply, the microSD I use with my slot 2 EZ4 is not SDHC while the one I intend to use with EZ5 is SDHC. So I formatted with fat32 stuck the beta5 files in there, and it works. Thanks

Last question, does it not support multiple skins? (only one skin at a time?)

well, lets say I have 10 skins or so, how would I install them all on the same memory stick, and how would I then choose which one I want from ezv's menu

Edit: I searched for a long time.. I dont know if I'm missing something.. but i cant find a faq/tutorial anywhere explaining how to skin the ez v.. I have the skins, I dont know how to install all of them

If I copied a skins content in the skin directory, it would just overwrite the original skin. So how can I have more than one?

EDIT EDIT: All problems solved, no need for a reply. Thanks for the help
