Homebrew isn't saving for me..

PocketNES saves and works perfectly, but no others.
Anguna resets when turned off
In Goomba Color, I press L+R for the menu, but I can't get into the save option.... (Goomba Color has the same L+R menu as PocketNES, PocketNES being PERFECT.)

My replays on BulletGBA are reset when turned off. (Same deal as Anguna)

I couldn't get Cory's tool (From the unofficial EZflash board) to work.

Make sure the EZ5sdhc.dldi file is in the moonshell directory on your microSD.

Also, in my experience, certain homebrew titles aren't recognized for some reason and will need to be patched w/ DLDI manually.

Goomba Color has no support for savestates. The menu option is leftover from the black-and-white Goomba which does. It does support in-game saves though, so you should be able to play games that use internal saving.

Then it has the same problem as Anguna, because I'm trying to play Wario Land 3 and it's not holding the saves when I turn the GBA off.

KidIce - I'm using the GBA cart for GBA games. EZ-4.

Okay, I was wrong about PocketNES saving correctly.
Big thanks to FAST for walking me through this on IRC

What you do is run it through cory's tool, EZ-64-2
Then fix the header in GBATA
then place the fixed GBA rom in it's place, and the pre-made .sav into SAVER.
The .sav being made by EZ-64-2.

I got stuck because in Vista, you have to use cory's tool through command prompt.
So if you're a Vista user you're gonna have to do that.
Time to patch homebrews so I can play Wario land 3 on bright screen and stuff.

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Hope you've had a good morning.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

I think that's why I focus on just enjoying single player experiences that aren't too competitive

    How are you doing?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
There's also this thing where I'm hyperfocused at night and cannot get to sleep.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Maximumbeans, I'm doing alright, thanks.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.

@Maximumbeans, I had a friend who had a glass chess set for their birthday.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It was like all clear and fancy. Tbf I'm not too experienced with chess, but would like to learn someday.

    That sounds really cool
