I got it direct from Amazon so I'm pretty sure it's not fake. And my 128gb card won't work either 🤷🏻‍♂️

Amazon is like the number one place for fakes outside of Chinese stores like Aliexpress. Third party sellers fulfilled by Amazon send in fake product and it all gets mixed in with the real ones under the assumption that it is real.

That why you buy sold and fulfilled by Amazon, so far zero fake micro SD that I gotten from Amazon.

Did you even read what I said? A third party seller sends in fakes to Amazon to be fulfilled by Amazon and because Amazon assumes they are real they mix them into your stock. People get fake SD cards directly from Amazon (as the seller included) all the time and it's a huge issue.

Being fulfilled by Amazon is different than sold and fulfilled by Amazon.

Bro you need to learn to read.

Third party sellers send in their stock to the Amazon warehouses so they can be fulfilled by Amazon. They send in 10 pallets of fake Sandisk SD cards. Amazon assumes they are legitimate and mixes them right into their own stock of real Sandisk SD cards. Third party scammers do it this way so that when you order from them you may actually get a real one since Amazon just grabs from the mixed stock and way harder to determine who the fake came from.

You order one sold and shipped by Amazon and when the warehouse person grabs one off a pallet, it might be fake because Amazon mixes stock from third party sellers under the assumption that it is real.

This has been going on for years and people still regularily receive fake USB drives and SD cards that were sold and shipped directly by Amazon.

I haven't got one fake micro SD that was sold and fulfilled by Amazon, it is different when you order something that is from third party.

Lol, you are clearly trolling at this point because I have explained how it happens in great detail. Ordering an SD card sold and shipped by Amazon does not guarantee that it is legit at all.

You are one the hundereds of millions of customers that shop on Amazon. You do not represent everyone.

Why I need to be trolling I tested every card that I bought with h2testw and they pass the test.

I really could not care less about how many SD cards you have purchased.

What I'm telling you happens all the time and you are one of like 200,000,000 that order things on Amazon lol.

I don't get why you get all upset when you buy it from a third party and blame it on Amazon directly, it is different if you get a fake one from Amazon directly. Perhaps it is different for you in Canada.

If you actually read my comments you would understand that I am talking about buying directly from Amazon (SOLD AND SHIPPED). Not third party.

Hi, I've finally gotten around to hacking my Switch. I got it when it first came out and have barely touched it since.

I'm on version 5.1.0

I've tried a couple of different guides, but when I get to the payload injection stage I get a fatal error

When I boot back into the regular homescreen, it tells me I need to format the SD card (512gb, FAT32), and when I try to format it in the Switch, it says:

"a system update is required to use the microsdxc memory card"

I assume it's because MicroSDXC cards weren't originally compatible. But if I let it update, will I be put straight onto the latest firmware or will it happen incrementally?

I want to update it just enough to recognise MicroSDXC cards without updating it enough to fix the exploit

All the threads I've seen here blame this error message on exFAT, but my card is definitely FAT32, and I've tried a few different cards. The only one that works is a measly 32gb
That happens with every single console when you plug an SD for the first time. The systems needs to download and install the exFAT driver. Not a big deal.
Format your card to FAT32 after that, since exFAT will mostly ending up destroying your SD card. But download the driver and perform the update first.

Also, staying on 5.1.0 at this point is an absolute insanity, update to the latest firmware ASAP.

It will not destroy an SD card. It's just more vulnerable to losing/corrupting data and if you just format it as FAT32 on a PC you never have to install the exFAT driver on your Switch.

Corrupting an SD is the same as destroying it, you won't be able to use it anymore for how awful the exFAT driver is on the Switch. There's literally zero difference between what I said and what you replied.
And even when the exFAT driver is shit, it's always recommended to install it.

Your original post said third party, I mean I would agree with the Aliexpress part.

Lmao you are so wrong.

exFAT is simply more vulnerable to corruption for a variety of reasons and if your data becomes corrupt you can just format the SD card and start over.

Corrupt data is not the same as destroying and SD card...

My original post said that third party sellers send in fake products that Amazon then mixes with their own stock, so ordering from Amazon directly may result in them grabbing a fake product.

You just can't seem to read.

I didn't say corrupting data, I said corrupting the SD card. You clearly hasn't been paying enough attention to the scene the last few years.
Go and do a quick search on Google, or even here. You'll find plenty of SD cards literally destroyed because of the exFAT driver. And let's not forget the low-quality SD port on the console.

You just can't seem to read.

You got proof that they mix third party stuffs with stuffs that is being sold by Amazon?
