Hello!

I just hacked my Wii U for the first time using tiramisu, and was able to get Nintendont up and running to put Game Cube games on the Wii U home screen. They all work and run fine, but I would like to be able to use my Wii U gamepad instead of always getting out a game cube controller.

I spent the day looking around online trying to find a solution/ how-to, but have been having trouble finding:
1) recent information post-2018
2) information involving Tiramisu and not Haxchi or Mocha
3) written in a way that's understandable to someone whos new to Wii U hacking.
4) involves the games staying on the Wii U home menu ( i know this might be a silly request, but it's all about the vibe of the games being THERE ya know? )

If anyone has any information on what I should do, or knowledge to let me know if I need to just accept defeat I'd be extremely grateful!

In case it's helpful this is how I got the GC games up and running to begin with:

1. put ISOs in the game's files for Nintendont, and opened each one 1 time with the Wii side of the console to make the nincfig file.
2. used Technomoon to make the isos into Wup files
3. placed them in the install folder in my SD card for wup to install them
4. installed them to a USB stick to appear on my home menu on the Wii u.
5. I use a USB adapter thing made to connect to computers + an original GC controller to play them atm

Thank you!

Probably every how to you find still works today but anyway, let me write one from scratch:
  1. Put some small GC iso to SD:/games/[gameName]/game.iso (example: SD:/games/Animal Crossing/game.iso)
  2. Reboot to vWii
  3. Start the Nintendont app
  4. Press A to select SD
  5. Press B to open settings
  6. Set "WiiU Gamepap Slot" to 1
  7. Press home to go back to the game loader
  8. Press A to start the iso from step 1. This is important as the settings won't get saved in case you don't
  9. Turn off the Wii U
  10. Disconnect the GC controller USB adapter (important as GC has higher priority than the gamepad)
  11. Turn back on the Wii U
  12. [OPTIONAL] Remove the iso file from step 1
  13. Start your favorite GC game from the Wii U menu

First One thing, can u please make ONE thread with all your WiiU Questions instead of Multiple threads? U can use spoiler to difference between your Problems.
Second, if u search this Forum u will find a lot Stuff about your mentioned Problems.
Third, did u followd this Tutorial https://wiiu.hacks.guide/#/ ?
Fourth, maybe check this thread for playing game Cube games on WiiU Pad [Tutorial] How to play GC Games on WiiU Pad

Thank you so much! that worked perfectly!

It's kind of humiliating that the only thing that was keeping me from using the Wii U gamepad was not knowing I had to load the ISO after to save setting changes lmao. Thanks again!

nintendont has gamepad built in, called drc on the app as well as internally by the system. afaik, the way to get it to work is using a forwarder that allows gamepad support, and selecting to use the gamepad when booting it. I think I have it, so I could upload it if you want. not sure how big it is, so it might have to uploaded to my mediafire account.

Thanks! I'm not using a forwarder but I managed to get it working. I'm definitely going to keep this information though incase somthing happens and I need it later :)

you may be able to do it with a forwarder, but I don't know how. I think it needs to take the role of a classic controller, which is how wii games work with the gamepad. games that can use the classic controller can use the gamepad iirc. they're designed to, so games without motion controls, which cube games would be all of them, work with the forwarder. :P
