Are you trying to install fakemote to vWii, or the regular d2x cios? Either way v6 is outdated u should be installing v10 beta 52.

If on vWii you should follow this
https://wiiu.hacks.guide/#/vwii-modding

If u want to install fakemote on vWii you should get the vWii zip from here, overwriting the d2x cios installer files from the link above

Im trying to install fakemote, i already have the regular d2x cios installed.

Also i have actually tried using that zip before but im now confused on something.
Do i have to grab a version of d2x cios before doing the overwriting process, because the zip you attached doesnt include any HBC boot files. in which case, what version of d2x cios do i grab for the overwriting process?

From the very top of the first link I sent, under the heading "what you need" https://wiiu.hacks.guide/docs/files/d2x_cIOS_Installer.zip

It's very simple, follow that guide, but before inserting the sd card in the wii take the zip I mentioned and add the fakemote vWii zip files I linked to, overwriting what's there

@xerpi, can u share the above instructions for ppl with vWii, and for ppl with regular Wii mention they can also use modmii. U can basically link to the directions from the official d2x wiki davebaol put together here: https://github.com/davebaol/d2x-cios/wiki/How-to-install-d2x-cIOSs-on-your-Wii#modmii

Im still getting the same error, as well as not being able to select anything above cios v6 on the options.
Idk what im doing wrong, maybe the link you sent is the wrong version? Ive tested it without changes and yes its the same thing, same error and nothing above cios v6

EDIT: Nevermind, i seem to have found out the problem. Ive been using my USB to install it and it doesnt work with the USB. ive tried now using my SD Card with this process and it works perfectly fine now.

I just hope @xerpi can make it so that we can finally play Punch-Out!! Wii with a regular controller!

It would need to be able to emulate a sideways Wii remote and use an analog stick/touchpad for moving the pointer (which is only used to navigate the game menus).

My setup on Dolphin is like this:

Square = 1
X = 2
O = A
Triangle = B

Hey this doesn't seem to work for me? I've been trying 57 and 58 (in slot 252 and 253 respectively) on WiiFlow with Sonic Colors and while the game recognizes "WiiMote + Nunchuck" as the current controller setting, both my DualShock 4's don't light up or work at all.

Also weird is that when using 58 on the system menu, pressing anything on the DualShocks (lights still off) freezes my Wii..

Anything I can do?

Can anybody confirm this can work like with *everything* ? Like, with Nintendont, Homebrew Emulators / Retroarch etc...? It would be nice to play ScummVM games, since using the Wii mote pointer all the time is really not good. Being able to use the analog stick for the mouse control on such games would be awesome.

Thank you

edit: It would also be nice to know if it's possible to play multiplayer games also on those options, using let's say a Wii mote + Wii classic controller + a DS4 using this method.

Nintendont already supports Dualshock 4 controllers! Multiplayer games also work as pairing a Wiimote with the Dualshock connected shows up as player 2.

Good news. Anyone else with some info's? It can't be hard for someone using this method to test some homebrews and report back.

Fakemote installs into cIos, which Nintendont doesn't use, I've only tested a few games, but Mega man 9 and Mario Galaxy work fine, Monster Hunter Tri crashes, and connecting the controller through a usb dongle like Mayflash doesn't work. Haven't really tried any homebrew though.

Wish this amazing piece of software could have HID support like Nintendont. It could bring new life to so many now unused and useless Wiis, and also bringing access to so many Virtual Console titles without having to get the, now out of production, Classic Controller/Classic Controller Pro.

This really needs that feature worked on, and it could be an essential piece of software for any Wii user. Hope somebody makes it real 👉👈

I think that Xbox 360 Controllers or XInput compatibility, in general, would be huge but it's probably a lot of work too

Does it work with wiiware? with virtual consol games on vwii side? with virtual console on wiiU side? with Apps?
For VC (or anything else) on the Wii U side you'll want a Wii U homebrew like Bloopair or HID to VPad. I've personally tested Bloopair and it works great, with both an 8BitDo Pro 2 and one of the official SNES Online controllers.
