Hi folks, was hoping you could help me with this issue, if you know about it of course. 2DS XL wont turn on now without the charger. It could turn on without the charger before I replaced the screen. After replacing it , now it wont turn on for some reason. I changed the battery thinking that was the issue, but it didn't work. I gave up. Found this site and thought maybe I could find answers here. Was hoping if there's some sort of fix, if not I'll sell it for parts.

I bought the console from a private seller, he warned about the problem.
after reading the forum, I think that this is a bench version of the "kiosk"

I ran the working console from the mariokart 7 cartridge

sorry for my bad english

I found differences with the standard version
attached photo,
there is an extra wire, and there is no resistor.
Does anyone have a motherboard and can he tell the value of the resistor?

Hi Artes, I'm 98% sure what you have is a "demo" unit, it is meant to only power on when plugged into the AC adapter. To fix that, just snip that blue wire there in your picture. Presto! You now have a normal unit. Enjoy!

EDIT: So, the snip alone didn't work for me. BUT - doing the snip AND putting a resistor in the empty spot did. My demo device now functions as a regular device, specifically, it is now able to power on with battery alone and without being plugged in. I tested this by borrowing that resistor from another device - I do not know, however, exactly what the value of this resistor is. I would love to know so I could purchase one and have both of my devices functioning properly (removing this resistor from my non-demo 2DS XL has the device acting like a demo device now - powering on only with AC adapter plugged in).

EDIT #2: No need to give the demo/kiosk device its missing resistor - simply bridge the gap between the missing resistor's pads with some jumper wire or solder and you should be good to go! I'm now unsure if snipping/removing the original blue jumper cable is necessary at all.

Yeah, changed the fuse near the battery and it worked. Must have blown it when I opened the 2ds.
