Are you interested in a complete replacement of TwlBg which includes all patches?

Is there a way to enable widescreen in 1:1 pixel mode (307x192px)?

I am able to start twilight menu in 1:1 pixel mode and use any 4:3 games correctly. However, any games patched to use 16:10 keep the 192px height, but stretch to the sides of the screen (top and bottom).

I don't understand how to use this. I just want the dark screen and redshift.

Edit: Okay, I see that the filter only works in fullscreen mode. Is there any way to get the dark screen in 1:1 mode?

Pretty sure there's no room left for code to run the dark screen filter in 1:1.

Actually, redshift + un-START should work together, as un-START needs no extra code space (patch only), and redshift alone should have enough space.

What do you mean it doesn't work in "1:1 mode" ? What does it do, and what does it not do?

When I start Twilight Menu while holding down select, it starts in original ds resolution with normal brightness, as if it wasn't patched. When I start Twilight Menu without holding a key, it starts with the stretched screen and the lowered brightness.

Can someone point me to a guide that shows me how this all works and what settings i should use? I installed the TW cia but don't know what to do. Also does it work for GBA games too?

There's a guide for widescreen with TWiLight Menu++, other than that though I'm not aware of any guides on this. It's fairly simple though, basically just pick the filter you want and you're good.

I don't think it works for GBA games, but I'm not certain so please correct me if I'm wrong on that.

Edit: Looking at the OP it looks like it actually does work for GBA games

Im having problems applying the widescreen patch. I did everything as instructed by the wiki and redid it like 9 times. This is extra infuriating as it used to work when I applied like a couple of months ago. Can anybody help?
(I'm using last version of everything)

Assuming you're trying to use it with TWiLight Menu++, are you sure the game(s) you're using are supported?

it used to run all games in widescreen just only the supported ones would have the aspect ratio corrected, but now TWiLight itself is always 4:3 and only supported games are run in widescreen when set up correctly.

Super Mario 64 DS is supposedly supported but nope. Doesn't work.

Hmm, are you following this guide to set it up: https://wiki.ds-homebrew.com/twilightmenu/playing-in-widescreen

It's changed a few times so if you're following some other guide it's likely outdated. If you are following that guide make sure you're not missing any steps, especially the luma config.

Oh, also make sure you're using luma from SD, not NAND. If you don't have boot.firm in the root of your SD then you'll need that. You can either install it from Universal-Updater or install manually from the latest release (just extract boot.firm to SD root)

I am doing everything exactly as the guide says. I think I might just try using an old version of TWL or just give up.

Hmm weird, you checked and have boot.firm on the SD?

I'm really not sure what else it could be besides boot.firm not being on the SD (or maybe not being the latest), luma settings are wrong, or outdated TWiLight...
